Enjoy this translation for the commentary as well as the ease of understandably
One of the things I most enjoy about the Kindle is its capacity to hold multiple translations of the Bible along with study guides. This allows me to study the scriptures without a bunch of heavy books scattered all around. I also appreciate that Kindle editions of the Bible don't seem to be carelessly edited. You don't find weird typos commonplace with too many other digital renditions of written works. Why would I buy yet another modern Bible translation, particularly when there are plenty of King James versions with extensive study notes available for free? Because I checked out a sample of this publication and found the introductory explanations about the history of scriptural translations and their organization really helpful. I've been a student of the Bible for nearly 50 years. As a kid I read some of the earliest 'modern language' versions trying to make sense of the scriptures, but some of those had their own sources of confusions. I was graduated from college with a degree in English education, having had to memorize most of Shakespeare's works in the course of my studies. studies. Years later I realized I could stop using the excuse of not reading the King James Bible because I had trouble with its stilted English. Years after that I read the King James Bible, and still do, in church, but I don't much like it. The Bible is a love letter, and frankly, if my loved one wrote to me in such stilted terms, I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face. I don't think in King James English, so when I read the Bible in King James English, I'm making translations in my head anyway. So why not read the modern translations? They help me muddle through some of the more complex passages. And this version's commentaries help explain some of the passages which my American understanding can't otherwise comprehend, given the Bible's middle eastern roots. Driving I enjoy listening to modern language translations such as The Message. But it and some other versions seem to stray so far from the church-familiar King James, I don't always follow them well either. I greatly appreciate this CVE translation' s lyrical word choices. They're not too far out in left field, and the reasoning behind the compilers' efforts is thoroughly explained, without tedium. More than that, this is the most affordably priced study Bible I've seen. Finally! Someone understands that if you set out to craft a Bible translation that is easier to read and understand, you've only done half your job if it's so expensive few people buy it! In short, get this. I think you'll like it. Unless of course you prefer to be mystified by the King James English Bible.

Easy to read and understand. Great for new Christians.
Simple to read and affordable. If you are new to the Bible, this is a good place to start. Also nice for casual reading. This translation is geared for common and easy to understand language! CEV was my first Bible translation when I first started studying the Bible as a teen. If you are looking for a more literal, word-for-word translation, there are better versions such as the NASB or ESV.

Not for kids pages are very thin
It’s great for the for the price I would not choose this bible for a child as the pages are a lot thinner than my other bibles and can tear easily but fine for an adult I gifted several this year
