Solving the problem of separating the protective paper from the adhesive.
Bought some rolls of Poster Tape to put some posters up on a three-panel display. Read many of the reviews. Seems one major problem for many was their inability to quickly remove the protection paper from the adhesive once it was placed on the back of the poster or other object. One person recommended that one starts a roll by separating the initial glue/tape and only leaving a small segment of paper, cutting off the adhesive. I also took regular scotch tape and taped over the serrated cutting device of the dispenser. Used two or three levels of protective tape. I did not want that cutting device to ever cut the tape. Then it's a simple matter to spool off a variable length of tape to stick on the back of the poster from the dispenser. I did not cut off that length from the dispenser. Now... when I got to the end of the tape length adhered to the poster, I raised the dispenser so now there was a small length of tape in the air between the end of the tape adhering to the poster and the dispenser. Now, grab the starting tape paper less adhesive prepared at the beginning, and carefully pull the protective paper off the adhesive on the poster, and the small segment of the tape in the air between the glued end and the dispenser. Cut the glue ribbon that is in the air but not the protective paper (free from the adhesive) also in the air. Trim the free protective paper except for what is before the dispenser. Now you are left with the adhesive ribbon on the poster, a small length of protective paper but no adhesive on the dispenser at the beginning of your next segment to be done. Easy peasey. Tape placement wasn't a chore but went on easily. As to the poster on the display panel, that is yet to be shown at a local fair.

Worked well to adhere decorated lunchbags to a window
I put together a window display of decorated paper lunchbags (in two's stapled together) for a non-profit. I used 2-3 strips of the tape in lengths of about one-inch near the top of each bag facing the window. The tape tears ok on the little ridge on the tape (meaning that i did not need scissors to do this). Once that is done, it is a bit tricky to remove the protective non-sticky strip from each before pressing (with thumb) them up on the window for display. You get better at peeling it with practice. I would not recommend that part for someone with long, painted fingernails, as it would be difficult. (I keep my nails short and functional.) The double-sided tape was strong enough to hold the bags up for the event month with no problem. Also, when I had to reposition a few crooked bags, I was able to carefully pull the tape loose from the window to move those bags. The tape peeled off the window without much effort and did not seem to leave residue. Good product for my project!

Worked great for adhering 4x6 photos to a textured wall without damaging it
Got 2 rolls to add 70 photos to my gaming room wall. They adhere super well but dont damage the wall when I take them off. The tape itself isnt thick at all which was perfect for what I needed. Im using smaller pieces to hold 4x6 photos on the wall, its been about 2 weeks now and none of them have fallen! The size is just like regular scotch tape and its durable.

Wasn't strong enough
Wasn't as strong enough to hold up a birthday plastic banner.

It doesn't work and shouldn't be on the market
Bought it for a special family party where pictures & memories were really important. Spent hours getting the pictures developed and then went to mount them on the day of the party with the help of two assistants. It was not sticky enough so the pictures (3x4 & 5 x7, certainly not a poster!) fell down within an hour. It was difficult to even use it as other reviewers mentioned. None of us could not get it started on the roll. Don't waste your time & money. Get a roll of green painters tape (Thank God, I had some), roll it on itself and use that. After the party, I could not peel this off the pictures all of us paid big bucks to have developed! This is such poor quality it should not be sold.

Great for temporary hold
I love this tape for temporary hold. It sticks really well to smooth surfaces and doesn't leave any marks when you remove it. It's not great for holding a ton of weight, but posters or smaller items are great. I would be cautious when peeling it off of paper surfaces though. It's not as sticky as scotch tape, but stickier than a post-it note. It doesn't hold as long on textured walls (the painted cinderblock in my classroom, for example), so I prefer sticky tack or command strips for long term hold there. I also use this to stick unmounted rubber stamps to acrylic blocks or a stamp positioner and it works great for that too. doesn't leave residue on the stamps and can be used over and over (I just leave a piece stuck to the block and swap out the stamps)

Difficult to remove backing
Very difficult - even with a strong fingernail - to remove backing so item can be put on wall. While gently picking at a corner to peel up backing, generally the entire piece of tape comes up and has to be re-stuck to poster. Demands a lot of patience to just peel up the backing and not the whole piece - over and over and over. Bought several rolls; will be returning all but the one I'm (trying) to use!! I expected better from Scotch brand.
