I rarely write reviews but I'm writing this one to say that about 1 year into this purchase (2021) I accidentally spilled a vodka cranberry soda on the keyboard and it was literally pouring out of the usb ports. I got it running after a few days and decided to just run it into the ground before I buy a new one. It has been 2 YEARS since and it is still running fine! I am getting a bit slower performance on a few games that is causing me to upgrade, but if you are looking for an investment that will last you, especially for more chill gamers, then I highly recommend!

Purchased to replace an aging RoG laptop I'd purchased (Amazon, again) years ago. I repeated my process this time around for the sake of frugality - buying last year's model. I aim for a laptop categorized as a "gaming laptop" in order to save myself doing much homework about device specs. I just don't keep track of technology paths anymore, so this simplifies it. Spend the time right out of the box to get it fully up to date with security patches as soon as you have it online. It will take a while, but security is an obvious area that deserves priority. Works very well, and I've not had any complaints for performance for any of my daily usage. I'm running Visual Studio, I've got a monitor connected via HDMI for a second screen, and can run my 800 browser tabs all day long without noticing a performance hit. Totally worth the money. And if my previous RoG laptop is an indicator, this should serve me well for a few solid years.

10/10 BEST GAMING LAPTOP

First off - I like the background color scheme of the laptop keys - my roommate thinks the color cycling is beautiful. The programmer in me likes something a little simpler so I stopped the color cycling and just stuck it on a single color, white. Virtualization. Runs Oracle's VirtualBox without any trouble - Windows 10 inside of Windows 10 works very well. Gaming. I'm not running 2020's top-tier games with this laptop, so my experience will vary from a lot of other gamer reviews. Running GTA 5 with high-quality graphics heats this laptop up significantly - but there's no thermal throttling going on that I'm aware of. Programming. Runs Visual Studio 2019 Community very quickly - I haven't had a chance to compile any bigger projects in it yet - but I imagine this processor will make these compile-times go fairly quickly. The batteries only last about an hour or maybe two when playing a MMO like WoW. I don't know about newer and higher resource games Anything that uses the hard drive burns up batteries very fast and the machine runs much slower and lags a lot when on batteries. I uses it to drive a 32in screen and a USB mouse and keyboard, and sometimes connect a controller for games. I would have loved more USB ports but that is in the specifications. It doesn't do well exporting to two monitors. It can't handle that and slows way down. On batteries I restrict to using the actual laptop screen but it's still intense. Overall it's very nice. I don't give it a lot of demand, but it can run Windows 10 well and I can have many programs running at the same time... as long as it's not on batteries or requires two screens.

I like the colorful keyboard that changes colors a lot and very smooth as well, great for the price, but I would recommend buying a separate mouse(wired), because I've accidentally banged or set the laptop down too hard and the mouse disappears. If this happens, get a wired mouse, attach it to the USB cord outlet in the laptop, and go to setting, "touchpad", and turn the touchpad on. Other than that it's good except for only just the fan running loud at times(it's still fine). Also moves very good with the internet, (little to) no lag.

The specifications of this laptop are off the charts for the price. I really wanted a fast laptop for work, with gaming capabilities as a bonus. It was hard to find a modern processor such as a 9th generation core i7 matched with a minimum of 8 GB ram and a competent graphics card. This laptop was the one I could find for a really affordable price. Most laptops that I found that were matched with fast working processors and competent graphics card had bad thermal issues, but this laptop’s cooling capabilities are insane. It also has a really strong screen hinge, although it seems unlike it. Its brushed aluminum feel and robust touch pad are also attractive. Its only cons would be the lack of sd card reader and thunderbolt 3 ports, and of course, a webcam. But honestly, most laptops have terrible webcam quality. I find it more prudent to purchase a quality webcam separately. Edit: it is true that the laptop’s keyboard is not functional at times. There has been many times for me the keyboard stopped working until one day it completely stopped. I sent it to ASUS and their customer service is EXTREMELY poor, but regardless, it’s fixed. This is largely because this is a new unit, so the hardware is not fully functional in many of the units, so gladly its not a software issue, rather a hardware. Given a warantee, I highly suggest getting it fixed ASAP if you’re an owner of this laptop already

This was the best choice i made in buying laptops from amazon. Best display, best performance, factory oc, and fan is not that loud as other gaming laptop. I am just in love with this. But i have this problem eith the display... few times a day when i turn off my laptop and turn it back on, the screen refresh rate keeps gets down to 39hz. I have to go to settings to set it back to 60.. :( any solutions?

good price, very good performance. If you are looking for a good pc for Game, this one can fit your need, i even played the last resident evil on it, and i had no issue at all !!
