Pin backs lock onto the pin stem keeping the pin secured. So far this has performed as advertised.

Worked great with my daughter’s pins. Great value and product as described.

There’s no grip texture on the cap like in the photo, and I nearly gave up after many attempts at opening the tin. Eventually managed it (it does twist off). The tin is kinda overkill. But the pin backs themselves are perfectly good. I didn’t encounter any duds that failed to lock. They’re standard pin backs and work fine.

I thought for the money, this 50 count pack would be worth trying at least. Not only did I love these metal clasps so much for my enamel pins, I ran out and decided to order 2 more packs. I've had rubber clasps fall off time and time again putting them on my pins, but I have yet to have one of these metal ones come off even once. They lock in so snug and secure, so you don't have to worry about them jostling and falling off. Like I said, I've purchased 3 packs of these now, so I think it speaks for itself (in my opinion) that these metal clasps are more than worth the money. If I had any kind of "gripe" to say, it's that I wish they came in a small tin or container of some kind. They come in a little zip baggy, but it's not at all a big deal for me. I'd also like to point out I haven't at all used the backings that come with them; just the clasps. 100% worth the money. I'll buy more if I run out again.
