** Review about Klipsch RP-280F. (ebony) **
** Review about Klipsch RP-280F. (ebony) ** > A little bit about my personal situation and usage: Just bought this pair of Klipsch RP-280F as a start of a 5.1.2 system for my home theater (in the basement). I do not have a dedicated room for this project so i wanted some good quality speakers, after watching some reviews and YouTube videos i decided to get this... It is a big open room and my main listening position is from 12ft away, so i was a bit concerned about the sound propagation around the huge room. > The shipping experience: As you can imagine i was counting down the days to get this... They arrived in the time they were supposed to, mine came from 'AcousticSoundDesign Factory' they arrived without any scratches, bumps or any sign of damage what so ever. ** If you are buying this speakers just be aware that they come in a box that reveals the content, so watch out for it, would hate for you to lose yours from your front porch. ** > Performance: Paired them up with my Onkyo TX-NR686 7.2 Channel and turned some music on... Sitting from about 12ft away. Omg simply stunning, amazing sound quality, even in my huge room at just 50% volume, it was super loud and clear, you could tell immediately that this are good quality speakers, and they still need to be "broken into". I then switched to a couple of Movies with nice sound effects (being that my main goal) and for me personally, the dialog and vocals where still nice and well heard, but the explosions, where lacking that nice strong bass that i love, don't get me wrong, you have some nice Bass considering it was just the left and right speakers, but if you are a true Movie lover, and you want that fully immersive experience you will need that Subwoofer to go along with this pair. I will be definitely getting the 112sw or 115sw from them, wen money comes available. But for now, it was a great start to my project. > Quality/Looks: This are just mean looking speakers, they look amazing, the wood looks great and gives that nice quality look to any room, looks amazing with and without the "grill" (personal taste there) they are sturdy, heavy, and you can just tell, well built.

If you are on the fence about getting them, JUST DO IT!
The Klipsch RP-280F is a phenomenal speaker! This is a large tower speaker so, as others have said, be sure that you have plenty of room for them. I purchased these Klipsch towers and followed up a few weeks later with the Klipsch RP-402S (2 sets) for surrounds. This setup is replacing Klipsch Quintet SL (5 small surround speakers). They were good for the price and size; however, the RP-280F is just on a whole different level. The highs that’s produced by the Tractrix horn loaded tweeter brings out very clear highs. I have heard others say it now I must as well. I hear details in music and movies that I did not hear with other speakers. I”m now re-watching movies and pissing off neighbors when I crank up the music! The Klipsch RP-280F puts out descent bass and extremely good mids and highs. It is a matter of personal taste, but I am a bass heavy listener so I have subwoofers to balance things out. I have one Klipsch SUB-10 Subwoofer behind my couch, one Klipsch SW115 (15 inch sub) in the front pictured next to the stereo and a second Klipsch SW115 in the corner between the couch and love seat. I give Klipsch 5 stars for sound/value/overall quality of this speaker. If you are on the fence and debating on purchasing, hop off the fence and just buy them! My only regret was waiting this long to get them.

THIS IS THE OLDER RP-8000F MODEL.
WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! I am so impressed with this speaker. The high end is spectacular. The crisp details I never heard before are suddenly in front of me. The bi-amp connection is not explained well in the manual. My Yamaha high end receiver has a bi-amp built in. For those who don’t understand bi-amplification, receivers equipped with this send separate discrete signals...one to the tweeter and midrange and the other to the woofers. This speaker is designed to take advantage bu-amplification with two additional cables connected to the other two terminals of the speaker BUT YOU MUST REMOVE THE METAL BRACKET CONNECTING THE HIGH AND LO FREQUENCY SPEAKER TERMINALS!!! Receivers need to be set up to activate bi-amplification. The bracket needs to be replaced when not using bi-amplification. Failure to replace the two metal brackets will render either the tweeter or dual woofers inoperable depending how you connect the speakers without the two metal bridges. DO NOT LOSE THESE TWO METAL STRIPS CONNECTING THE SPEAKER TERMINALS. NOTE: THESE SPEAKERS ARE DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED BY THE RP-8000F COSTING $200 MORE. AMAZON SHOULD HAVE INDICATED AS THEY ALWAYS DO THAT A DISCONTINUED ITEM HAS A NEWER MODEL. The RP-280F and RP8000F are essentially identical with the exception of the cabinet, grille, feet (base), the baffle and a VENTED tweeter. The grille on the newer RP-8000F is a higher quality, more durable fabric. The base (foot) on the RP-8000F has two fang-like feet whereas the RP-280F has a much better solid piano grade finish wood base which has to be screwed into the bottom with screw in spikes for support. The baffle on the RP-280F has a sharp looking brushed texture while the baffle on the newer RP-8000F has a smooth semi-gloss texture. The cabinet on both are different with equal quality. The logo on the RP-280F grille is at the top whereas it is on the bottom on the RP-8000F. The newer tweeters used on all the latest Klipsch models provide venting to improve the high performance. This $400 savings (for 2x) makes THIS A FAR BETTER BARGAIN THAN GOING FOR THE NEWER MODEL with only moderate improvements. These speakers are spot on for accuracy. No added bass! You hear the sound as the band or musician intended it to sound. Love these speakers. These are MASSIVE boxes with a huge depth from front to back. It is a deep as my entire audio rack.

Phenomenal Sound
I’ve had a set of Tower speakers with dual 8” Woofers, but I wanted to match the quality of the Klipsch RP-240S Surround Speakers that I’ve had for about 2 years now. I wasn’t sure if my Yamaha RX-A760 Aventage Receiver could adequately power these for average listen volumes, but that concern was put to rest after I played some music and played a few Blu-Ray movies—wow! The most impressive thing I will have to say about these speakers is the clarity of the sound. I am now hearing distinctive sounds that I could “not hear” with my previous tower speakers that also had dual 8” woofers. The sound that these speakers create is a very complete range of lows, mids, and highs, when paired with my dual 10” subs that are placed next to these tower speakers. I do plan on using a pre-amp with 150 wats of RMS power to increase the power, but even with the 95 watts that my receiver produces, it’s very impressive for everyday listening. I also like how the attachable base angles the speakers up slightly to project the sound more towards typical listening ear heights. I regret not using Klipsch speakers for my center and subwoofers, but I’d definitely recommend using “ALL” Klipsch Speakers to anyone considering building a complete home audio system. These things are worth every penny when you have the dual subs to produce the complete range of sounds. #WorthEveryCent

Read this! Great Seller!, Perfect Speaker!
Ok Guys I was thinking how can I review this so after you read this you don't read the next review or look for another speaker. here is my review: this speaker sounds very clean and deep bass . it's so clean that when you watch a movie , when they talk you feel like it's real. they look awesome , beautiful , work of art . OMG when I listen to music , you know when you skip a song that you don't like , with this speaker that's not going to happen everything you listen it's beautiful it sound amazing clean and deep sound . I have connect it to Onkyo RZ900 with Klipsch center and subwoofer and surround speakers great built quality , very heavy you will need a help to movie it . (which is a good thing) If I could I would select more than 5 stars . I bought it from AcousticSoundDesign they are really good at supporting you and keep you happy . they replace one of my speakers very quickly as soon as they know it has been damaged on the way . they called me and took care of it really fast, thank you for that. another good thing about this speakers is like watching Steven Spielberg's movies that you don't want to turn your head or blink your eyes , so you will have same experience in your life to not blink your ears! lol you want to hear it more and focus more I think this is the best way I can express my feeling for this speakers . I hope you find this helpful :) *As someone says here if you buy this you will never need to buy another speaker unless you are a millionaire and want to spend 30K+ on speakers.

FLAWLESS
I have had the Klipsch floor standing R-26F speakers and they are one of the best. Now , I have stepped up to the Klipsch floor standing RP-280F speakers and feel like I am listening to a higher end product right out of the box without a break in period. The clarity is like I'm right next to the instrument being played. I did not think there would be much difference between the two. There is, I was going to hook up my scope and check the sound levels. No need to , the difference between the "Reference" and "Reference Premium" was astounding. Time to buy two more RP-280F's the R-26F's are great but can't compete with these. Sounds a bit imbalanced in the large party room we entertain in. I need to mention Klipsch quality, I like they took no shortcuts and delivered the highest quality they could deliver at this price point. Rare to see this these days , I have built and repaired many circuit boards in my career the workmanship and detail are there. Even with the carpentry of the cabinets , tops.

They are amazing. Will change they way you feel about music
I had been back and forth over these or Polk Audio. Went with these. Came fast packed really well. I was running 25 year old Sony speakers which sounded ok. Bought Sony amp 165 watts and wow. Old sounded new. Then I hooked these boys up and mind blown. They sounded amazing and they keep getting better. I had to turn down my sub. They are worth every penny. Almost a year later and still loving them. The sound has improved. Bass was not great but now loud and clear. Half the time i turn my 15 inch off. Amazing. One thing I don’t like is the speaker terminals. Doesn’t allow you plug in. You have to unscrew and stick the wires through the hole. Update Ended up taking out my sub. Found out I can bi amp with my Sony amp. The speakers just sparkle. Love listening to them. Fell in love. Now I am saving for the Klipschorns. I can only imagine how those sound.

Excellent Speakers and a Great value!!
Excellent speakers! Not very wide but they are deep and heavy. They came packaged very well. Arrived in perfect condition but the boxes are huge. Be prepared to have a lot a packaging left over. These speakers sound great. Give them some time to break in, about 40 the manufacturer says, and you will be rewarded. The longer you play them the better they sound. You can bi-wire, use bare wire or banana plugs. I use banana for ease of use. I am coming from M and K speakers which were VERY good speakers in there time. They are about 15 years old and I have them to my son. But these have been excellent replacements for less money. I am very satisfied and love to rock the house. You will not be disappointed by these speakers.
