Works exactly like intended.

This was a replacement pump for my OTC 25 ton press. It looks and performs just like the original that lasted 20 years.

Having used this model pump almost daily for 43 years in my profession, I can say with authority that of all major brands and models and many lesser known to the public this model air-over-hydraulic pump is as bullet proof as they come. The "Stinger" model of the same manufacturer but imported, is a distant second to this one. I have used Enerpac, Blackhawk, Simplex, and many other brands and models and none of them are as dependable or as tough as the OTC 4020. I currently have 5 of these in use in my business and depend on them daily.

Same pump as SPX but different label. Guts might be different but I doubt it. I bought this to replace my SPX but was able to get my SPX working so I returned it unused. They say these are serviceable but for the price of parts then labor your really better of replacing it or seeing if you can get it working through something simple. The main piston was froze up in mine from sitting to long. Tried to lube via the air inlet but that was impossible to get enough fluid in to free it up. Ended up taking it apart and greasing the heck out of the piston. Was not as big a deal as I thought but REALLY messy.

We used this as a replacement pump for a 30ton press. Initially it worked fine achieving 10,000 psi. After several hundred cycles at 8000psi, it began to have trouble achieving full pressure. Now can only get to 7500 psi which isn't enough for us to use. Will probably need rebuilt based on our observations. We believe it is a fine unit for applications that are not medium to high production.

Compact and is not leaking.

The pump we received has been back for repairs 2 times in the 1st 3 weeks ( it is still out for repair at the time of this post). I am very suprised and disappointed at the lack of quality this pump exhibits.
