Red Lion RL-SPRK200 Sprinkler/Irrigation Pump, 230V, 76 GPM, 2 HP

Works well!

This pump replaced a 2 HP lake pump for my sprinkler system. The old pump was over 15 years old and was still available to purchase, although the price was over $1,200. The Red Lion pump was 1/3 of the cost and was exactly like the old pump in that it was the same size, easy to install and 230 volt. It runs with very low noise and pumps the water from the lake to 9 zones and over 50 sprinkler heads with great pressure. I recommend this to anyone who wants an excellent quality pump at a great price.

I am pretty certain this was a pre owned or previously returned pump. We have three other red lions on our ranch and they have been flawless. This pump was installed without problems for another pasture. It was wired for 230 volt and was good to go. Flipped on the circuit breaker and almost immediately it seized up and the overload protection tripped. I pulled it and was getting ready to return it ( which I really don't want to do) and thought to pull the impeller housing for a look. Sure enough, it was loose with the threads on the impeller stripped causing it to free spin and seize up. A simple replacement impeller would probably solve the problem but I am having a tough time getting a hold of the selling party through the Amazon platform. Hopefully someone who can do something about this will read this review and send a replacement impeller before the return window expires. These have been great pumps and the only reason this would have happened is a customer return or something like that.

This is a great pump. I had been using another brand and had replaced it three times in 5 years. I think this pump will last a long time. Very well built

This is a heavy-duty sprinkler pump that puts out plenty of pressure but is much more difficult to keep primed than the twenty year old pump it's replacing. I have a 25' deep well with water available at 8' and the pump only 3' from the well but it keeps losing prime. I've tried 3 different configurations of 2" inlet plumbing and valves but the pump still needs to be primed the day after a normal 5 hours of use. Unfortunately, the well does not have a foot valve, but that will be my next mod.

It's only been installed a couple weeks but runs great, it's also a very quiet pump.

Just got this installed for my sister on her sprinkler system (in part since her old plastic pump got busted at the outlet port). So far it's going good, but was a bit hard to get primed and going. For her system, everything is uphill to the yard from a canal behind the house, yet the high inlet on this allows an air pocket to exist in it (rather than allowing water to flow down back-filling everything). I have "banjo" fittings for connecting the suction line where I had to crack it to bleed air 3 times before it got going (letting it run at least 30 seconds between each bleed to try it, but not let it go long). Once primed, it seems to be doing well where even with 2 of her sprinkler circuits going at the same time (from a valve not closing) it didn't drop pressure and all ratcheting sprinklers were still moving (with old 1.5HP pump there would be pressure drop in such conditions). Now to hope it can keep going and handle the typical dirt/debris from such a water source.

My previous 20 year old pump died, replaced it with this 2HP pump. Very powerful and sturdy. Installation was pretty easy if you can do basic plumbing and electrical work, took about 30mins. Highly recommended.

Works great, runs a 1-1/4” sprinkler through 400ft of forestry hose and provides a full 100+ ft of coverage. Still has enough flow to run a second sprinkler too.

Pumps a ton of water and is very quiet.

This company makes products that don’t work. You can not return it.
