Blue blooded..
And just as well, as it's surprisingly violent for a 12A with cyborgs being dispatched in a variety of ways. However, it just looks amazing - this will be one of the reference films that will be used to show how good a TV's resolution is, I already want to see it in 4K. Plot wise, it's fine and there's more than enough going on to to entertain but it is not for young children - in the 90s, this would have been a 15 certificate easily.

Visually stunning with a great story
The world building here is astounding. Simply breathtaking, a perfect mix of practical and CG effects help create a distinct and interesting environment. It would all be for nothing if the story wasn't there to build on the look of the film. Thankfully the story is pretty great, which i won't rehash here. But i loved the father daughter relationship that is built throughout the film. The hunter aspect was terrific and had this wild west feel to it. The Motor ball sequences were exhilarating and fun. All in i really enjoyed Alita i highly recommend it. I really hope there is a sequel.

Wow!
Like most other reviews this film is visually stunning. Yes I was totally blown away by the CGI animation to the extent that I became totally engrosed with the characters and the environmental surroundings. The plot was very good and was very surprised as to how much I enjoyed the film. This is manga to a whole new level. I can remember in my era Akira and Fists of the north star. Wow the difference now - no comparison. Progression is clearly evident and I'm really looking forward to future technological progression of this class. This film is definitely on my birthday list and will get the 4k edition to watch again in all its glory when pre-order dates are confirmed in a couple of months!

Incredibly good film
I absolutely loved this film. The depth of character, width of emotions on display and amount of pure life that exudes from Alita is incredible. She's a fantastic protagonist. And the action sequences were really, really fun, just left a big grin on my face. World building, again A+. I rarely go to see films at the cinema, and have only even bought one or two DVD's in my life. Going to buy this one though.

Loves up to the hype and follows the manga
Perfect adaptation. Follows volume 1-3 of the manga and both ovas. Adapts them respectfully and even links them better. The romance and human aspect is better too. If you've seen sin city you know Rodriguez adapts comics to film perfectly he's done the same here too.

Amazing Movie
This is one of the best movies I have seen all year. I bought the 4K version at HMV as its £24.99 there and I didnt get the chance to see it in the cinema which I am devastated about. Fantastic story, amazing graphics which are outstanding. I really hope they make the sequel as it ends on a cliff hanger. Decent fight scenes too

Me encantó
Esta película quizás no tuvo mucho éxito cuando se estrenó en cines pero la verdad es que no es mala película y en 4K luce espectacular. Lastima que no vaya a tener secuela pero si te gustó no hay que pensarle mucho para comprarla en este formato.

A very good post apocalyptic story
Alita is a story set in the 2500s in a dystopian future that develops after what is called "The Fall" which is (as you learn if you watch the bonus material) a war between Earth and Mars (after humans colonize Mars). Pretty much all of humanity left on Earth live either in Iron City, or a city that floats above it called Zalem. It is a part origin story for Alita, who wakes up with no memory of who she is, part story of a class system post-apocalypse, with some cyborg bounty hunters thrown in. The movie is based on a set of Japanese graphic novels that began in the mid-1990s and stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, and Ed Skrein. It mixes a lot of action, with some drama, and even a few comedic moments mixed in. James Cameron wrote a very long script from the graphic novels, then passed it off to Robert Rodriguez to make it a movie-length script and direct the movie when Cameron decided to focus on Avatar, and the sequels he has been working on for about a decade now. I have never seen the graphic novels or the Anime series so I am not sure how well this stacks up versus those, but It does seem that Cameron (at least from what is revealed in the bonus material) kept pretty close to the source material. For those who get the 4k set, you get three discs, the movie itself on UHD, a 3d blu-ray version of just the movie, and a regular blu-ray, which also has the bonus material. The movie looks great in 4K, and you get a ton of bonus features (somewhere around two-hours worth) made up of making-of and behind the scenes material, as well as animated featurettes which give a bit of backstory that was not put in the movie to keep it at a reasonable (2hr) running time. The movie is CGI heavy using much of the same motion-capture effects that were used on Avatar, so everything looks pretty seamless. I cannot say the movie will appeal to everyone. But, if you like post-apocalyptic type action movies this one has the plus of having good acting and writing and telling a more nuanced story. The creators definitely left the door open for a sequel (and there is more than enough source material), but given that it was not exactly a box office smash, there is no guarantee that others will be made. If it ends up just being a stand-alone movie, I do think they did a good job. Given, however, James Cameron can pretty much get any movie he wants to be made, there is a good possibility that at least one more movie will result from this one. You definitely have to pay attention to the movie to get what is going on, it is not a "have it on in the background" kind of movie. But, if you have a couple of hours to kill and are looking for a good action movie, it is definitely worth checking out.
