Orbiloc Dog Dual Safety Light Red

I've tried all sorts of dog lights & light-up collars over the years. Many are not waterproof, have visibility issues of simply break after a few uses. I've got a whippet who likes to run and while his recall is good, I wanted to be able to see him when he was hundreds of meters away, so took the plunge on the Orbiloc. Let start off with the pros: Pro - It's very bright, too bright if you look right at it. Mounted on a harness when walking on lead, it can shine in your eyes and dazzle you. In the photo, you can see how bright it is at dusk, viewed head-on. Pro - Pretty good side-on visibility, although brightest when viewed head-on (See photo) Pro - Bright enough that it usually reflects off the surroundings, even if the light is facing away from you. If it's pointing directly away, across an open field, then you won't see it, however. But I've seen it reflecting off trees, bushes, grass, etc. (See video) Pro - Very sturdy & waterproof. My dog does go out in heavy rain and has been known to run through water, which has stopped other lights working. Pro - Seems to have a very sturdy attachment system, although even on my dog's 40mm wide martingale, I had to have the band on the smallest setting, so might be loose on smaller collars. Cons - It is somewhat directional. If your dog stood still and had the light facing away in an open area, you may not see it. However, my dog does not stay still for long and it will often point at the ground, in which case, the reflected light is easy to see. Cons - uses lithium CR2032 Coin cells. I'd like to see this available as a rechargeable unit, but I guess that would affect the ability to change mounts, etc. Cons - The switch is very stiff. While this does mean it's highly unlikely to be accidently turned off, it can be awkward to turn on, with cold fingers! This is a very minor point. Cons - Quite weighty, it will probably cause the collar to rotate and the light to point at the ground. I actually find this to be OK though as the light is so bright, it reflects off the ground, but something to be aware of. Overall, i'm really pleased with this light. I choose the Turquoise colour, as it's not a colour generally seen, so makes him more visible to traffic, etc. I tend to have it on slow flash, rather than constant, to preserve the battery life, but it also seems to be more eye-catching, as it's very strobe-like. I've mounted it both on a harness and collar, to see if there was much difference. On the harness it was pointing upwards and slightly backwards. This gave quite good visibility, even from the side, but the light was blocked if my dog was coming towards me. I had to turn the light off when putting him on the lead, as it was flashing right into my eyes! Mounted on the collar, it tended to point to one side, but that's because there's a GPS tracker on his collar, too, and that is heavier. I could generally still see some reflected light, even if he was side-on, with the light facing away, as it was pointing slightly downwards. I suspect on most collars, it would end up underneath the neck, so would give a good reflection off the ground. For optimum visibility, I would go for two of these lights, mounted either on opposite sides of the collar, or on opposite sides of a harness, but I really haven't "lost" my dog in the dark for long enough to warrant that sort of outlay! Maybe if I regularly walked in woods, rather than a very large open field, it might be worth it.

Great light, I have this and the white one. I got the white one first and it is almost too bright (I know silly thing to complain about when all the other lights I got were too dim) but it was blinding me when close so I put it on the bottom of her harness and now it lights up the ground in front of her so I can she if shes found something she shouldn't be eating. The purple I've put at the top as it isn't quite as bright so I'm not blinded but can still see her if she is laying down blocking the white one. Now I know where she is in the dark, even when she goes through shrubs or takes off to the other end of the field. I also feel comforted that she is very visible for cars. Bought months ago and still going strong despite several trips into a lake. Very good quality and I love the clever way it attaches.

I cant give a review on battery life. I've had this for 7 days. So far going strong using it for a couple of hours per day. It's made well. I'm doubtful it will damage or fall off. But mines a small breed that doesnt run off into the "wilderness" 2 comments. 1. The light is extremely directional. So if you mount it on their back. You will be blinded when looking down at them. You cant really see it from the side. Only front on. Therefore we have it mounted on the dogs chest. It shines a light forward then and we arent blinded. And can see the floor! 2. The batteries state CR2032. But its x2 CR2032 unless you buy their own kit which is two strapped together. This is stated on their website but not amazon. If you buy your own Cr2032 batteries. You will have to slightly bend the pins to keep contact. And make sure you buy good ones. (Still1/3 the price of their replacement ones) I ordered white. Its bright. My mum got green. Its must easier on the eyes Overall I think I would buy these again. But hopefully it wont get lost/ I wont need to for a while.

The attachment rubber is extremely secure. The light is bright and can be seen from a good distance. The battery does actually last for at least as long as in the description. I got mine about 15months ago and I've just come on here to get a new battery and realised they sell a service kit that includes a gasket to keep it totally waterproof. The waterproofing is 100% effective my dog always has it attached to his collar and is in the water every day and the light works just aswell as the day I got it. In all a great product and I would highly recommend it.

I was really impressed with this light. It was bright, durable, waterproof. After several months of not being used, it immediately turned back on a few weeks ago, without any need for charging. I've had to give it 3 stars however, as it is currently flashing away to itself in my local woods, having not made it back home. I'm now having to fork out for another light. In the meantime, my black dog is virtually invisible on dark walks.

Great product illuminates over a 100m. Dogs dont notice they are wearing it. It's robust and waterproof which is exactly what you need for a gun dog

The build quality is good for the actual light unit, but I suspect my terriers may lose their lights after one session in the woods. Its early days but i'm not convinced by the straps provided. I bought 2 of these light kits, one red and one blue. The blue is more intense than the red but unless the light is facing you, it is hard to spot your pooch on a dark night regardless of what colour you choose. As mentioned, I bought 2 kits and when they arrived they were obviously different variants as the straps provided were different. One came with a nylon velcro strap and the other came with a neoprene type strap. Both accommodated the lights around my doggies harnesses and can be easily removed if required. These lights are too pricey for what you get to be honest. I bought them as I wanted something exceptional and was expecting this, however, I have had better intense flashy dog lights than this at a fraction of the cost and at a price you can afford to loose should it fall off in the woods or get wet. If you have a dog that isn't too active and stays by your side when out walking on a dark evening, this may be an ideal purchase. Otherwise, to save disappointment, I wouldn't recommend these lights.

Before buying an Orbiloc, got through a few cheap LED dog tags that always either ceased to function or fell apart after a very short time. The Orbiloc is very well designed and made from high quality materials, that provide good performance and a robust product that can be permanently left fixed to dog collar, travel bag, etc. The batteries last a very long time, about 250 hours in flashing mode. Dogs can freely go in rivers, the sea and roll about in mud without fear of damaging the Orbiloc. Great also for taking dogs for walk at night, as they can be seen from a long way in parks and open ground when darkness falls. Highly recommended and well worth any premium paid over the cheap and nasty LED tags to be found in various brand guises within the Amazon Marketplace.

Es la luz de calidad que transmiten las imagenes de Orbiloc, el tamaño y luz ideal, recomiendo el color verde ya que es un color que se ve muy bien de lejos.

Helaas een ander type ontvangen dan de in de advertentie afgebeelde. Met de buckle met aan 1 zijde een pin. En dus ook zonder de afgebeelde rubber en klittenband strap

Wir haben einmal Grün für den Großen (Kurzhaar) und einmal Lila für einen Welpen (Langhaar). Bei beiden ist es super zu sehen.

Ich habe schon mehrere Orbilocs gekauft und bin nach wie überzeugt. Die Leuchte ist sicherlich etwas teurer, aber ihr Geld wert. Nochmals verbessert wurde die Art der Anbringung, alles in allem in meinen Augen perfekt. Nicht zu hell, daß sich der Hund vorkommt wie ein Weihnachtsbaum (ich meine durch das Licht irritiert wird), trotzdem gut sichtbar. Die Batterien halten (sehr ) lange, sind beim Wechsel dann aber auch nicht gerade günstig, wenn man Markenbatterien kauft (d.h., für den Preis der zwei CR 2032 Batterien bekommt man von günstigeren Anbietern über USB aufladbare Leuchthalsbänder). Uneingeschränkt 5 Sterne.

Mon chien en porte deux sur le dos accroché a son arnais, les lumières se voient très bien et de loin, promenade par temps sec. En durabilité des piles et des lampes, intempéries à voir dans le temps, mais pour l'instant, plutôt satisfaite de mon achat, et je recommande
