I highly I recommend this book!
I am also a self taught Artist, who has been drawing and painting throughout my life. I've been following the work of Meeta Dani since I ran into her online. Her work is amazing, and I loved the tips she gave when I followed her on Instagram. When she said she was doing a book I knew I had to add it to the library of books I have of Artists who's work I admire, for inspiration. What I didn't know was that besides showing step by step how she accomplishes her beautiful paintings, she also shares a wealth of information about color pigments, how to accomplish skin tones, different painting techniques, and much more. Her Appendix alone is a valuable resource for any painter, especially a Watercolorist. She wrote simply, but also went very deep and detailed at times, making her book perfect for a beginner, as well as an experienced Artist. I just can't say how highly I recommend this book! The photography of her paintings alone are worth the price.

Lots of info and photos - Easy to read print
So excited to have my copy of MEETA DANI's "REALISTIC WATERCOLOR UNLEASHED"!! It's the PERFECT book for detail-oriented watercolor artists. It covers pretty much everything: from Materials to basic techniques, and well beyond. Meeta explains in detail how to achieve highly realistic watercolors using some of her gorgeous watercolors as examples. The book contains several step-by-steps that are very descriptive and clearly explained. The readers will definitely find these steps extremely helpful.Other positive points are:1 - EASY to read for people with vision problems. The paper is NOT shinny and the print font is large and clear. A real blessing!!2 - Lots of Tips and info you don't find in many other watercolor books.I bought my copy on Amazon.com. Very convenient!

Wish I had bought this book when I first started doing watercolour!!!!! Well worth the price.
This book is absolutely amazing. I wish that I had found this book when I first started doing watercolor it would've explain so much . The author is just one of the best artist I've ever seen doing realistic watercolor. She really goes into detail to explain the process of how to use watercolor and how it reacts depending on how much water you have in the brush and on the paper. I have bought a lot of books but most don't properly explain the consistency of how much paint to water ratio that milk versus cream consistency really is, not to mention the importance of being aware of water levels in the brush and on the paper.. The biggest plus I think is how she describes the reaction of watercolor depending on the wetness level of the brush and the paper. The exercises are invaluable in determining what reaction you're going to get . The author takes you through a series of exercises to attain a level of comfort for you in using the watercolor . The exercises are essential in being able to produce the effects you want to produce . Normally reading without practice is not going to get you where you want to go . However this author makes every exercise a lesson to achieve greatness. I am truly inspired and impressed. Meta Dani achieved her level of expertise in just two years by practicing all the lessons that she puts forward in the book . If you want to see an example of her work, check her out on YouTube. She has an amazing video of painting coins that will blow you awayI am excited all over again to begin my journey of watercolor now that I have more information to achieve the results that I want!!!!

This book is a wonderful reference for water color painters of all levels
This book is a wonderful reference for water color painters of all levels. Meeta Dani is a wonderfully talented painter and a natural teacher. She has gone to great lengths to explain all aspects of watercolor paints and painting, and there is something to be learned whether you are a new painter or an experienced one. There are very helpful lists of paints and their properties as well as excellent information about colors and color mixing. My personally favorite part were the chapters that Meeta explained the many steps in her process to create her own realistic watercolors. The writing is clear and concise and the photographs were plentiful and were very helpful in illustrating techniques. I highly recommend this excellent book.

Great instruction for learning watercolor.
I have many excellent books on watercolor, but this one is probably the best. Meeta explains the difference in pigments in a way that clarified my understanding of transparency and opaqueness. The step by step instructions were clear and concise. If you love watercolor and want to learn how to paint, this is an excellent book to help you.

Poor value for money
I’m a great fan of realism and I had this book in my wish list for a long time as it is pretty expensive. Eventually, I gave in to temptation and bought it. I am so disappointed. There are so many filler pages of artistically photographed paints, palettes etc that useful content is very limited. There is also the usual wasted space describing what paper is and which brushes to buy and so forth. When we eventually get to a step by step, the images are not particularly appealing (e.g an ear of corn) and the stages are rushed. The essential message is to use multiple transparent glazes and if you’ve already seen this method on YouTube then think twice about the cost of this book. Overall, I really regret buying such an expensive book with such little relevant information on realism.

Buy it, great book.
Bought on kindle, and amazon kindly gave me a 3. 00 credit on an offer I didn't know about. It's a stack of cash even with a credit, but my is it worth it. Don't even hesitate I learnt so much, I am not experienced in watercolour but it has given me more knowledge. I like doing detailed pictures so it was right up my street. No green landscapes in sight. Solid advice and given from the heart.

A must have
Excellent, clear explanations. The author is encouraging, and has a truthful assessment of pushing past an artist's limiting beliefs. She breaks everything down in manageable exercises.

An Encyclopaedia for Watercolor realism!
A book is where you receive knowledge ... and this book truly lives up to it.It is a comprehensive guide to everything that is needed for anyone to learn realistic watercolors and even master the skill like a pro. The book covers the basics which makes it suitable for beginners and then gradually unveils the details and intricacies involved in making a masterpiece, like the ones demonstrated by the author herself. I believe that this book equally caters to the intellectual requirements of starters, intermediates and professional watercolorists. It helps the readers not only with the techniques and concepts of painting but also it helped me change the way I look at things - my observation !!!I have been more into impressionistic watercolors until I met this book. I have got many books on painting and I like many of them for the information provided. But this book takes it to an altogether new level... the apparently simple looking Step by Step guidance, makes sure every artist feels comfortable to start with the painting; and then the steady hand holding through the later stages of the painting as we build layers of colours and the artists confidence on the subject and finally giving the Finishing touches to add finesse to your painting. It all sums up to a great learning experience! The book provides elaborate explanation of fundamental concepts like color theory , Values, Tones and hues. It also includes an exhaustive list of colors and pigments used. It has everything that one needs to learn realism... well! almost everything ! I feel the only thing that we need to add in is 'Practice' :-)
