Prepara Silicone Roasting Rack, Red

Keeps roasting meat off the bottom of the pan quite nicely. The red color is solid silicone, slightly smaller than the green, and somewhat less deep top to bottom, while the leaves on the green color are molded and have negative space on the underside. No biggie if you're washing it in the dishwasher, but for hand washers that are particular about getting all the oils off of silicone products so they feel "clean", the little nooks and crannies might drive you crazy. They did for my mom, so I bought her a red one and took her green one. Everyone wins.

It does work as described but I now hesitate to use just because it is so difficult to clean. In all fairness it may come out immaculately clean from a dishwasher cycle but for the hand washer it takes a lot of effort even when pre-soaked. Just too many nooks and crannies to get clean. It takes time and a toothbrush to get safely clean.

I've used this "rack" for a 18 lb. turkey and a 14 lb. ham and was very happy both times. The leaves interlock and stayed together throughout cooking so I suspect two would link together easily if you were cooking something really big. I store it curled up inside an infrequently used pot so it doesn't take up storage space.Clean up was a breeze - I rinsed it off and put it on the top rack of the dishwasher. If you're washing by hand, a bottle/scrub brush would be a good idea so you can get into the the "curls."

My hubby does most of the cooking but I do the clean up so this is a blessing for me! We used to use a wire rack for roasts, etc but this is FAR SUPERIOR. Easy to clean, just pop it in the dishwasher, or wash by hand. It fits almost any pan and it leaves more room around your roasts for veggies, etc. It comes in a smaller size as well, we bought that too!

I used this for our Christmas turkey. I usually have to scrub the rack I put the turkey on, or all the bits don’t come off in the dishwasher. I just threw this in the dishwasher, and it came out squeaky clean. I love this thing! Plus, you can bend it in and shape you need. It’s totally flexible.

It does not stay in place when you place food on top of it. Food is always sitting in the juices when cooking is finished.

This roasting rack changed my life.JK. But, it is just what I was looking for to use in my slow cooker. I made a pork roast, and it was awesome. About 1 minute to prepare (plus cooking time). Here is the recipe:- Buy a 2-3 pound boneless butt roast (or bone-in, if you prefer).- Rub roast with mustard.- Sprinkle pork seasoning liberally all over roast. (I used DennyMikes Sublime Swine).- Put it on the rack in the slow cooker.- Cook on low for 8-10 hours.- Enjoy the excellent roast (I also made cornbread and sauteed spinach to go with). Yum!

excellent choice over a metal meat holder it will not rust of course and it changes shape to suit your needs also it is thick silicone and with the shape change allows use in many different things and when your done top rack dishwasher makes for no extra effort

Did exactly what it should. Kept the turkey out of the drippings and made basting easy Cleaned easily in dishwasher

Have been looking for something I could put in various pans.This is ideal as you can hook it onto itself to reduce size

ExpenSive but does the job.

The height (thickness) of this unit is good and the ability to shape it to suit the pan or the cut of meat is incredibly useful. It can be difficult to clean (I usually run it through the dishwasher twice on sanitize). Recommended.
