Typical Waterman ink. Safe for any pen. This red is more or less magenta on most paper. If you want a true red or a "darker" red, like an oxblood, I would suggest adding some Waterman Intense black ink to it or even blue to it, or both. Like do a cut of 50% red, 25% black, and 25% blue. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it'll darken it up a bit. The ink flow is medium in most pens -- not too wet and not too dry. It seems to dry very quickly. Overall it's a nice ink, though I wouldn't say it's "red"... but you can make it "redder". However, it's an ink that I would trust in ANY pen, especially vintage pens.

Great bright red shade that I couldn’t find from other brands.

My first bottle of ink and it appears to be water resistant and consistent color, a factor I was looking for. It is a little lighter red than I thought, but it is nice. The bottle had dust on it, the box looked used and it has come out during shipping. How the bottle didn't break I do not know. I have to wonder if this is a new bottle or not. Just be careful, I really think I got a return product.

I just got this ink today (9/24/18) so if anything changes down the line, I will edit my review. I am using this with the Pilot Metropolitan stub nib, and it works great so far! The flow is just right, so the pen never gets that dry scratchy feeling, but it also doesn't drown the paper in ink, causing it to bleed everywhere. Speaking of bleeding, this ink looks quite similar to blood, after wiping my nib off with a tissue to remove excess ink, one of my roommates asked if I needed a band-aid, clearly not noticing the pen... Well that's a score in my book! The ink does become darker after it sits of the paper (this may not be true for all paper, I am using your run of the mill copy paper) So if you are looking for a dark, almost blood red ink, with good flow, this would currently be my choice.

Very nice red that pops off the page. Same thing I said about the Waterman blue ink I reviewed, don't get it wet once it's on the page. It does smear easily. Outside of that, though, very happy with the product and will be buying it again.

I use fountain pens and love Waterman ink. Waterman are my favorite fountain pens for their excellent quality. I would think no less for their ink. Writes well and doesn’t fade.

Excellent fountain pen inks with very reliable performance. The red is bright and vibrant, the blue is a classic everyday color, and the green is rich and pleasant on the page. All three inks flow smoothly and are well balanced—not too wet and not too dry—so they work well in different fountain pens. The 50 ml glass bottles are also practical and good value.

Very good vibrant red colour, doesn't bleed through ordinary paper when used with F nib, suitable for checking papers and assignments. Dries quickly. On the pricier side
