Flowmaster 51013 Heat Shield

Very lightweight, should dissipate heat well. Also has a clean look. It will be a nice addition to my new Flowmaster muffler to prevent some of the heat coming off from heating up the underside of the pickup bed, which is heating up the camper shell area. I had a new Flowmaster muffler installed, but at that time I didn't know they made a heat shield specifically for it, it's just what I needed to top if off. It's very lightweight and should dissipate heat well. I'm going to lay strips of header pipe wrap on top of the muffler before clamping on the heat shield to even better contain the muffler heat and direct it downward and out the tailpipe.

I added two of these over my dual exhaust in my classic Mustang to control heat and noise in the cabin, they worked, less heat and noise, still not cool and quiet like a modern car, but every little bit helps. FYI, I put muffler wrap under the shield and over the muffler to aid in sound and heat control, I believe this improved the heat shields performance considerably.

Original muffler had a heat shield on it, so figured I'd put one on the aftermarket. There's a heat shield on the underside of the bed on my truck, but the original muffler hung a little lower than my aftermarket, so this is just for a peace of mind for me Fits perfectly for the muffler specified. Time will tell how long this holds up.

If you actually have a Flowmaster muffler, it fits perfectly. If you don't and you give this bad reviews then you are part of the problems in this world.

Does what it's supposed to do but does rattle during certain RPMS.
