Lava Lite 2124 the Original 14.5-Inch Silver Base Lamp with Yellow Wax in Blue Liquid

The lamp came well packaged. I got it home put it together and turned it on waiting for the lava to melt. It’s takes about three hours to four the first time turning on before it gets going well. I’m happy with it. It’s a little cloudy but it seem like it getting clearer since it’s been on. It’s been 40 years since I have had a lava lamp . My first lava lamp was in 1970’s . I have the green wax / blue and I also have the blue water / purple wax both are on and working great. I feel like I’m back in time back in the 70’s when days were a lot cooler. And worry free..

When I first got it the lamp worked really great but I forgot to turn it off a couple of times so the wax won't melt properly, I'm pretty sure this is just operator error but everything about this lamp is amazing otherwise. Also be patient with it since mine took 4 hours to completely function (the picture is out of box experience)

This product is not the best quality. I decided to give it a go at its current (cheap) price with free shipping. If I had to make a choice to do it again I believe I would so overall im satisfied but this lava lamp is pretty cheaply made. Two problems with mine, LOTS of little air bubbles I read another review with the same issue I didn't think it would be too big a issue but after getting the lamp and realizing those bubble catch light (and become very obvious) its irritating. The other issue some of the wax (the lava stuff) in mine has a different buoyancy than the rest. I noticed when I first unpacked the product I had a block of wax and then I had about an ounce worth of free floating wax that just stays at the top (it doesnt want to mix, but after leaving on all night some has mixed). Overall this lamp is worth 13.00$ the problems can be somewhat mitigated by turning it in a direction that has the least bubbles and if you leave it on you don't notice the odd wax as much. Giving it 4/5 stars id give it a 3.5 I will round due to price point. I have only had the lamp for one night so longevity is not factored into my rating .

As strange as it may seem you may need to break this lamp in for a few days. I was thoroughly convinced this thing was broken when I first plugged it in. I wasn't expecting to be in psychedelic heaven for the low price I paid for the lamp but I did want it to at least work. The bulb lit up, but, after over 8 hours the "lava" didn't budge at all...just sat at the bottom. The next evening I turned it on again...some movement but not much. Third day some sort of stalactite was hanging from the top just frozen there. I gave the lamp a little shake to try to get things moving, and saw some minimal movement. By day 4 I turned it on not expecting anything and...whaddya know....it started working perfectly! And, as it turns out, this is a pretty groovy little lamp (it does take about an hour or so to "warm up" when first turned on, which is normal). I also love the color on this one. When it is the only light in the room it is quite relaxing.

I read the bad reviews on here and none of them really had any detailed negative experience. So here is mine which will hopefully let someone know the risk that you will be exposed to when purchasing one of these. *I also have another lava lamp that works for a good comparison to eliminate any mistakes on my part.* Upon opening the box with the lamp in it I was created with some "how to use" instructions. It says that it could take up to 4-6 hours to work. That immediately let me know that some people giving bad reviews on here weren't patient because I read a lot of them saying that they only turned it on for 2. The first time I turned it on (with a red one I have at the *same time* - it turned into one of those frozen statue looking blobs after about 2.5 hours (that scared me from seeing that issue in the reviews). I then proceeded to let it continue heating based on the instructions. That around the 6 hour mark it actually had become more fluid and was two giant blobs that wouldn't really float up. It was a valiant effort though for the lava lamp; I will give it that at least. At this point I have tried to use it 5 times. Each time I have left it running for a minimum of 8 hours each night and check it before I sleep and in the morning. The lamp has a giant blob at the bottom that doesn't move but looks a like it wants to but the surface tension and the density of the liquid is too high and makes it sit tight right at the bottom of the lamp. Then there is a little tiny bit that has somehow managed to float to the top (must have done it while I was sleeping because I have not recorded any movement). Anyways....it's a dud. I wish it worked. I will be returning it. I really did give it a fair chance. I think I will find one that a shop has that is working and offer them money for it haha. ****The two blue lamp photos are of my chance that I gave the lamp to redeem itself (at the eight hour mark after being turned on). One photo shows the dud and the lamp that works and both were turned on at the same time.

I have had this product for quite some time now. Some people say that it was good for the first day and then the the inside was deformed and didn't work anymore. I just want to say, even though that happens it just needs time to warm up again and then it is back to normal. I do wish it didn't take so long to heat up, but that factor really doesn't ruin my opinion of it. I really like this product and I use it every night. The lighting is bright and the colors are vibrant. I would recommend to anyone! As a note, at the time I recorded this clip it was still warming up. Once it is fully heated it moves more frequently.

Honestly, I was nervous about buying this product because of the questionable reviews. But I honestly don't know what store to go to in order to buy a lava lamp (other than spencer's). The price was also a strong push. I figured if it turned out to be a disaster, I could return it in time and get a new one by Christmas. With all that being said, this product exceeded my expectations. I followed the instructions in the box when I received it so I would avoid any human error issue. I left the lamp on a few hours to make sure it worked - It's a gift so I wanted to check before I gave a dud as a gift. I cooked dinner, came back and the lava was dancing around like sugar plums! I love it! I love the colors and it's so much fun to have on - I might have to keep it. Side note: It comes with many instructions about what to do if the water is cloudy or it's not heating correctly and if all that fails, you can call a number they provide.

The bulb Fused at first try. My mistake as it was not rated fir 220V Indian current. Had to open the base and change bulb holder to E14 also changed the wire to a 1.5 meter 2 core wire. Got both from local shop and it cost me about ₹ 300 including a 15 Watt E14 type bulb. I left it on for about 18 hours to get the wax nicely melted. Few hours it looked like a phallus rising but after 24 hours now it works perfectly. Check the 2X speeded up video.

製品自体は正しい設定で使用すると問題なく稼働する。 なかなか良いヒーリング空間を演出できると思う。 ただ、日本では届いた製品をそのままコンセントにつないでも 製品自体がアメリカの電圧120V仕様なので、日本の100Vでは熱が足りず いつまで経っても樹脂が上下しない... そのため、日本で使う場合は別途で電圧を100V→120Vに昇圧する機械を購入する必要がある... 電圧を上げる機械がまあまあの値段するので、トータルではいい値段にはなる。 あと、樹脂が上下し始めるまで1.5～2時間位かかるので気長に待てる人向け。 待ち時間と別途必要な電圧昇圧機械の費用が許容できるなら悪くない品物である。

Base had a dent. Glass had a long scratch. Took twice as long as the estimated date shown for the product to be delivered.
