Salifert Dissolved Oxygen Test Kit

easy to use and has worked every time except the first time I tried to use it, the water stayed clear, so I think I did something wrong. Is giving me pretty consistent readings on 3 different tanks for a week, so I'm happy with this purchase. Even though I thought the price was too high, it's worth it to know, especially since I did end up needing to add more oxygen to one of my tanks.

Took a few tests to get used to. Shows higher o2 than it should in low o2 water and shows lower o2 levels than it should in higher o2 water. Definitely not accurate but good enough for a baseline guesstimation. I would compare its o2 accuracy to a bit less than litmus strips are for ph. If you want to know exact oxygen levels don’t use this product. Go spend a grand or 2 on a real o2 tester/meter. But if you just want something cheap and not precise and more of a guide in your guess work then I recommend this product.

I used this to test the oxygen in an aquarium that had an unexpected fish death. I thought the oxygen was probably OK based on the filtration I was using, and this test confirmed that it was fine. It was only a little more complicated than other liquid aquarium test kits, so if you've done the nitrate test with the multiple chemicals where you have to shake the bottles and wait 1 minute here and 5 minutes there, this should be easy for you. It was a LOT easier to read than other kits I've used for water testing, probably because this one comes with a little cup instead of the skinny tube that comes in most kits. I was skeptical based on some of the reviews, but after using it I have nothing negative to say and I would definitely recommend it.

Easy to use, seems very accurate

I really can't say how accurate this is, since I have no other way of testing the oxygen level in the water. It only took a few minutes to complete the test and the instructions were clear.

Since the clear plastic test vial used for comparing the treated sample with the color chart was unusable due to it being broken, theres no way to know!

I have tried the Salifert Oxygen O2 Profi Test four or five times. I tested water from two ponds, city tap water, and the tap water chilled and shaken in a bottle with air. All tests gave zero ppm except the chilled aerated tap water which registered 8 ppm. With the pond water after the OS-2 was added a bit of curd perciptiant showed up. It is hard to believe that our ponds shows 0 ppm oxygen!

It seems like it works well and accurate Not that it needs to be done so often if the pump is set up correctly. Expensive for the few times you'll need it done Rick
