Moved from MSI 17" model to this 3K 15", LOVE IT!
Absolutely great product. When it arrived, it had been shipped in a box, inside was the MSI box, and within that box was all the protective measures necessary to make sure the 3rd box was well protected.Incredibly light and small for the power that it packs ( NVIDIA 870 ).Unlike my previous MSI computer, this doesn't have the easily detachable battery. However, it is very thin and sharp. The sound isn't as good as the 17" ( little more tin ) but sounds very good nonetheless. And the 3K screen will make you hate 1080p.Also, the migration from Windows 7 to 8.1 was nothing major. People blow the change out of proportion.Follow up - The Day AfterMigrated all my data, no issues with the HDD 1 TB drive. The 128GB drive might feel a little small, but only use it for important app installs. The SDD really speeds up (by seconds) the loading of applications such as Autodesk Max and Maya. Had a time trial with a friend.3K on a 15" laptop means crisp text, but you might want to set the size larger than small. I have good near-sight, but this was a bit too tiny to be comfortable when coding. The keyboard takes a bit to get used to if you are coming from a desktop or 17". While typing this, I'm missing the space bar about once every other sentence.Make sure you pick up a mini-displayport cable if you want to drive 2 additional monitors ( 1 HDMI, 1 Mini-displayport).And the light-up keyboard is very fun. Looks different from my previous MSI. Instead of the whole key's border being illuminated, I see the illumination more along the bottom right and left of each key.The NVIDIA 870 is working great on my steam library. No issues yet noted. And I've had no issues coding my own 3D projects with this computer.

One of the best laptops at the moment.
This is definitely one of the best laptops at the moment .(Usually i don't bother writing reviews but for this one i need to make an exception as its exceptional). I will quickly dive into my experiencesMy req for the system: I am a programmer, i was trying to get a system which is fast, very light so that i can carry it anywhere i want.Usage : Mainly for Programming and surfing etc.Good :1. very fast, installations of most of the software was done in secs. All the programmers will know the feeling of refreshing the code and the ide freezes for a file even when you run locally.etc.with this system you can forget about that issue.2. very light , approx 4.6 lbs when you hold it it dosn't feel 4.6 lbs .3. display (3k) stunning clarity. it was awesome. but we will have to use large icons or text so that we will be able to read something.Bad1. cant upgrade anything without completely voiding the warranty the system.2. SSD of 128 GB kind of feels small.3. Battery only lasts for about 4 hrs. longer battery life will be great.Overall, when compared with the bad's of the system the goods take over.

Overall a great experience... minus the touchpad.
So far it's been great. Decent battery life if you're casually online. Also, the super high resolution (2880 x 1620) gives you amazing desktop space...if you're able to still see the tiny font (I am, but my vision is superior to most of the human race, including you, reader. Yes, you). The high resolution also costs you more battery life than if you set it lower, if you didn't already know that. Super lightweight, and despite it's size it still feels very portable and easy to carry around.I use it mostly for gaming, so I barely use the touchpad. When I have to use it, it is a very frustrating experience. I've played around with different settings and it still feels mostly unresponsive and unreliable. Lacking left and right click buttons makes clicking on the touchpad a guessing game--hopefully you're luckier than I am. Don't even bother trying gestures.Overall, League of Legends runs amazingly on the highest settings, so my use case is met. I'm glad I have a mouse to use though..

Awesome laptop for productivity and gaming
After reading a lot of Amazon reviews, I was kind of worried about this laptop. Most people gave it five stars, but a few people gave it horrible reviews, in particular saying that the connectivity didn't work. I got it anyways and I'm extremely happy with it.Pros:-The only high rez gaming laptop on the market (besides the Lenovo y50, which is 4k but has a weaker graphics card and a terrible display)-Thin, light-Beautiful 3k IPS display-Fantastic full keyboard, including number pad-Feels great. Sturdy, a pleasure to touch.-All software and hardware components work as advertised.-Able to play games, including Far Cry 3, on ultra settings. Able to play older games on ultra with 3k resolution.Cons:-Fan gets loud when gaming on high settings. (This happens to all gaming laptops, though, and especially with thin ones).-Case gets burning hot when gaming on high settings. Seriously, you won't be able to touch the area of the GPU with your bare skin.-Case is a fingerprint magnet. This is pretty annoying.-Touchpad is not as responsive as it should be. I wish some manufacturer would copy Apple's trackpads properly...Overall: I'm extremely pleased. Excited to use this laptop for work, school and pleasure for the next several years.
