American Crew Pomade, 3.0-Ounce Jar, Packaging May Vary (Pack of 2)

This is a great product, just don't use too much or it looks greasy. One tub of this lasts me about a year.

BACKGROUND I recently left the service of the US Army and have been granted the ability to finally grow out hair. I tried hair gels but realized that I dislike the stiffness the products provide as well as the fact they tend to causing flaking and, if my hair is messed up, the gel is a one shot deal where now my hair has lost its shape. The hair stylist recommended I test out and try some of the products from American Crew. I tested both American Crew Pomade Medium Hold & High Shine as well as the American Crew Forming Cream with Medium Hold & Medium Shine . PACKAGING I ordered a 2 pack. The small tubs that resemble acne pad containers came wrapped together on a single piece of cardboard. I worried because I live in the state of Texas and was afraid the hair products would melt in the heat but it was not an issue. USEAGE The first thing to note is that very little hair product is needed. It is best to use only the size of a dime on your fingertips. Rub your fingertips together then gently run into your hair starting in the back moving forward. Only do a few passthroughs. Do not rub into the roots of your hair. Also, make sure your hair is towel dried so that is no longer dripping but slightly damp but not too much to where your hair is now bone dry. The American Crew products have a scent. It is not overbearing and is complimented on by the women in my life. PROS: ++ Continuous manageable control throughout the day ++ Does not clump up ++ Does not flake ++ Does not create the crusty shell of gels ++ Not as difficult to remove from hair in shower as other hair products and waxes on the market CONS: ++ Expensive product ++ Can make hair feel a little thick or dirty CONCLUSION These products carry a high price but are well worth the money. A first impression is everything, one that is very hard to correct later on with someone. Make sure your first impression is the best you can do with the American Crew Hair Products.

Works great for short hair! Must for on the move!

Have you been looking for a masculine hair product that lets your Soul Glo without that oily mess? Well, look no further metrosexuals (and those seeking a great masculine hair product), American Crew manufactures a great Pomade! Why you ask? Well, for starters, the pomade features a subtle manly smell that I find fades rather quickly through the day, but likely enhances our pheromones. The pomade itself is easy to apply...not too sticky, spreads evenly in the hands, and applies without problems to the hair (I apply on damp hair). One jar also lasts a long time, as you only need a small amount per application. Once applied, the pomade gives your hair a "wet" looking hold, but without any of that stiff or crunchy feel as I've experience with the Crew forming cream. Most importantly, I find that this product does not flake like many other cheap pomades or gels I've used in the past, and lasts through most of the day. So why not 5 stars? I find that this product does a hell of a job managing my porcupine hair, but at least for me, it takes a little more work to wash out than other pomades that I've used in the past. However, its a small price to pay for a sharp look. Oh yeah, Amazon's price (when using subscribe & save) is definitely hard to beat as my local stores in NYC charge this much for only 1 jar! After years of trying in vain to make various gels and mousse products work (getting a good hold for a slight pompadour or slick look, without flaking,) I finally tried pomade after watching a few videos and how to use it properly. I will never buy anything other than Pomade now that I've tried American Crew Pomade. I have thick hair and like to style it in a slight pompadour. I get really good hold from my Crew Pomade that lasts me all day while I am at work and even when I work out my hair stays in place unless it's really, really hot out or I mess my hair up. Pomades used to put off a horrible smell or be kind of thick and gross but Crew has a really good product here that my girlfriend tells me smells nice, doesn't flake and leaves a clean look even the next morning. I can even just come by hair the next morning and it will still look good, if I want to run off to breakfast or work without a shower. I've tried a few "higher end" pomade products friends have given me that work in a salon, and I got a similar hold, but would have had to pay twice the price. I use pomade in my hair 6-7 days a week and it seems like one pack will last me about a month.

Doesn't destroy hair or smell crazy like some others do.

This was my hair-product of choice for a number of years. However, I had once purchased one of these pucks from a department store, and had been dissapointed in the quality (I think it was old...). Based on that experience, I was a little nervous about purchasing it online. But I was wrong to worry! The two pucks showed up quickly, and they were every bit as good as I remembered. Put a dab of this on your finger, spread it through your hands, and then massage it through your hair. It will style easily, but it won't crisp like gel. Instead, your hair holds it's shape, but still feels soft. Mine starts to wear out towards the end of the day (on my part, where I usually have a hard time getting hair to stay in place) and it can start to look a little 'dusty' if you use too much. If you use the right amount, and you aren't running around in the wind, it's perfect. I love it, and I'll continue to buy it on Amazon. What a great price!

Bought this product after reading about it on a website and thought: "How good could it really be?" Man, was I surprised! This is quite simply the best hairstyling product I've EVER used - and I've tried loads of different ones through the years. It's easy to apply (I just rub it through my damp hair), holds my hair where I want it, non-sticky, non-greasy, doesn't make your hair stuff (hair actually feels quite soft still), doesn't make your scalp feel tight or dry, washes out easily, and makes my hair shine like a well-groomed stallion! What more could you want in a hairstyling product?

I have naturally thick hair, but cut fashionably very short at the sides and a little longer on top. Applying a marble size splodge of this pomade to newly washed hair leaves it looking shiny and styled, without feeling like it's greasy or sculptured. This is undoubtedly the best product I have found for my type and style of hair. It also washes out very easily (you can just use water if you want). I'm not someone who would normally spend much on styling products, but this is certainly worth the money.

This stuff is great and well worth paying extra for! I have thick dry hair which I have been trying to grow out for a while now. I have used various types of gels and styling products but they all left me hair feeling greasy and stuck together. This stuff is easy to apply and once it's in it does not feel like there is any product in your hair atall but it still provides hold and shine. Amazing product!

Great pomade, smells good, not too greasy even though it's high shine. Only problem is it doesn't have a lot of hold - really for slick back looks when you already have some natural weight in your hair. If you need something to hold your hair down you'd have to try something else, or combine this product with straightening/hair spray.

I was going for slicked back/combover, slicked back hairstyles and tried a lot of stuff. The two reasons you should use this product are A) it washed out completely (i wash it out just in the shower not even need to use shampoo. it doesn't affect my hair the next day) B) It gives you great control and at the same time gives you a great shine to your hair.
