Perfect Creature [Blu-ray]

This Is one of the most original thoughts I've seen on the vampire.In fact the word vampire Is never mentioned. They are something different in this movie.In the movie you rethink all of mankind and how we fear whats different, and they In turn fear us. The movie even has references to when the creatures were starting to be born at 1st they were killed like monsters.That was 300 years to current time In the movie.Now they are trained at birth to serve us. There Is alchemy Involved and a virus the creatures (And our church leaders)have created by accident.The movie also does a awesome job at blending film noir as some described a Victorian England yet air baloons and Influenza Is humans greatest threat. This guy has some Immagination and a genius movie here.Except as some have noted the ending was confusing. Left you wondering the directors point /or writers. And a sort of let down. but the movie itself grabs you. Thats what I want to hear In a review. AND IT DOES and you won't stop until the end. HAT'S OFF should be a classic but I don't think It got the exposure to become one.

The movie was a bit slow at first, the I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. The quality isn't the greatest, but I don't think it's supposed to be. You're looking a dark, dank, disease filled city - why would everything be perfect? I'm going to go looking for a sequel which should tell you enough there.

The vampire and even good vampire tropes have been filmed again and again. Nonetheless, this slightly steam-punked tale of good vampires guarding human society caught between their own fading viability as a species and their mission to save humanity from itself offers a tragic tale of the kind that Aeschylus or Sophocles would recognise. Men and women, vampire and human alike, are caught by the fates to love, and to struggle with the division between conscience and the law.The leads, Saffron Burrows and Dougray Scott, are restrained and nuanced in their approach. They live in a world were vampirism is not a horror show, and with their restraint they make this believable. When one vampire goes off the reservation, all hell does break loose, but they work through their mutual fears attempting bringing about something new and better. Do they succeed? That would be a spoiler. That said, I found this a step above nearly every vampire film I've seen. There's emotional nuance, and not just fear brought to life in this flic. The tragic form of the film is a major part of its success, because no matter how much we would insulate ourselves, tragedy is part and parcel of the human experience.There's been a lot of speculation among reviewers about the poor picture quality. I watched on a 27" mac and it was roughly SD quality, which isn't great. I don't think it would be watchable on a full size flat screen, which is why I've taken a star off from an otherwise great picture.

As stated in the title, this movie was pretty good, in my option, but it's not for everyone. the acting was pretty good, i liked the story, and the animation is . . . well, it's not great, but i've seen worse in the movie theaters. what killed this movie was the way it was filmed, or more like, what they used to film this. i thought maybe it was my old computer making the screen look horrific, but from all the comments below, it wasn't just my computer, the cameras that was used in this movie sucked. i don't know what they used to film this, but if they had done it better, this movie would have been four to even five stars. if you ignore the way it's filmed and you can appreciate the acting, the semi-good CGI, the few pretty neat screenshots, and the story, you will like this. if you want a perfect movie, just skip this and move on.

It would be an interesting movie if it weren't a cesspit of liberal tripe. Yadda, prejudice, yadda racism - laid on so thick you could cut it with a knife. Apparently the "Brothers" haven't killed anyone in 3 centuries and yet humans are just saturated with latent hatred for them. Even the Puritans weren't so intent on highlighting the vagaries of imagined human moral defect and they had the excuse that the Enlightenment hadn't even happened yet. Depressing when heavy handed attempts at injecting propaganda into movies ruins a good plot.

This movie tries too hard to be everything popular from TV/movie 2006 was made and fails to be anything. The post Victorian early industrial style, aka not quite steampunk, is a total miss and just looking like a grimier 1983 London with dirigibles and air guns. The horror elemental of classical gothic trying to be modern slick and stylish vampires was so badly presented and cliché that I was waiting for Christian Bale to show up looking for sense offenders. The police lead is pointlessly abusive as if they are trying to fit every Orwellian and Dickensian villain into one figure who happens to be female so it's totally cool that she's so vile and cartoonish she should be twirling a moustache. Couldn't even get through half of it because the vampires try to come across as too noble saints and the humans come across as total scum. If feels like fiction by someone who wants to pay homage to all their favorite classical horror and dystopian writers that it's a mash up of competing voices and fails on so many levels.The set pieces are well constructed for the obviously low budget and it's decent costumes but that's about all redeeming.

I found this movies by accident while looking for vampire movies and was curious enough to get it. It is dark, edgy and romantic. The story is complex enough to keep you engaged until the end and the characters have depth. The alternate universe has enough to be recognizable, yet different enough to make it interesting. The romantic hint between the lead vampire and the police woman teases those of us who love romance. I definately recommend this as a must view and keeper.

Refreshing storyline, great set, well acted, and I would love a sequel. Reminds me of the original black and white 1942 movie Cat People, with the same moody cinematography and restraint. Very glad to find this; was searching for something different from the usual vampire movie.

HALLOIch war sehr positiv überscht von diesem Film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Es geht um die Bruderschaft der Vampire, die friedlich mit den Menschen zusammenlebt. Einer der Brüder dreht durch und tötet Menschen. Daraufhin versucht die Bruderschaft alles um diesem Bruder habhaft zu werden, bevor er dieses zusammenlben zerstört und die Menschen sich gegen die Bruderschaft wenden aber ist der abtrünige Bruder wirklich verückt oder...........Der Film hat eine gute Story mit Überraschungen, die Schauspieler sind sehr gut und die Kämpfe und Effekte sind wirklich nicht schlecht
