The label claims no animal ingredients, HOWEVER, it further says that the manufacturing facility does handle animal products. Unless one has some ethical or extreme allergy-related problem (I don't), I would consider it vegetarian.

Are there any brand of Wasabi peas that are just crunchy and not so hard that they break your teeth?

Yes there are. I get them at a produce store. The ones I've bought on Amazon are disgusting.
