The Griddle Is Outstanding, Probably Won't Use My Grill Much Anymore
My 28" Blackstone griddle arrived 5 days early. I was so excited when I got home and saw it that I drug the box in to the house and assembled it in the living room. CONS: 1. The box was a disaster. It was 2/3 open at one end, beaten and torn at every corner, plastic straps were very loose, and part of the label was missing. Needless to say, I was expecting missing parts and a damaged griddle. I debated opening it for 15 minutes since I felt I should probably return it before opening because I knew I couldn't repack it in the same box. I decided to cross my fingers for luck then unpack it and take lots of photos so I could repack it if necessary. PROS: 1. It was packed so we'll that it all held together with no dents, dings, or missing parts despite the exterior box. Assembly instructions suggested 2 people. I am a single 68 year old woman who is NOT physically fit yet I was able to assemble it all by myself in under 75 minutes. Good instructions with diagrams made this one of the simplest assemblies I've had - much easier than assembling boxed furniture! 2. I read several articles and watched videos on how to season a Blackstone griddle. I'm experienced with cast iron cookware so I'm not a virgin seasoner but wanted expert advice particular for the brand. There's some debate over type of oil to use for seasoning so I opted to buy the Blackstone Griddle Seasoning and Conditioner. I really don't think that was necessary; any high smoke point vegetable oil will work. Canola oil is readily available and the least expensive. I seasoned the griddle 4 times. 3. My first cook was 2lbs of thick sliced pepper bacon, my second was 4 smash burgers which were delicious! Controlling the temp will take some practice, primarily learning the hotter and cooler sections of the griddle. To help me while I'm still on training wheels, I bought an infrared thermometer gun. However, when cooking the 2lbs of bacon it was easy to see the slight temperature differences because the degree of doneness was obvious. Despite slight temperature differences, there was only a 2 minute difference in cook time between the strips around the very edge versus the rest of the flat top. 3. The griddle should be as level as possible when seasoning or griddling. Mine is set on an uneven brick patio so I have a cheap level I keep with it along with a dozen small squares of cardboard to put under the legs or wheels to make it level. Fortunately, my 28" griddle is light enough to easily slip as few or as many cardboard squares under it as needed. All in all, I would highly recommend the Blackstone griddle to anyone even remotely interested in backyard cooking. I also own an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn Combo smoker/grill (saucepan burner, propane chamber, charcoal chamber, and offset smoker) which I like a lot, but if I'm honest, it probably won't get much use now that I have the griddle. Several foods can be cooked on a grill but almost everything can cooked on a flat top griddle.

Wow am I glad I decided on to buy this griddle
Purchased this griddle for use while camping. Did a lot of debating between a Grill or Griddle and was concerned that a griddle may not be versatile enough for all my needs. Wow am I glad I decided on to buy this griddle! Arrived just in time for a 10 day cross country trip. No major assembly, and really no tools needed outside of a wrench to tighten a few bolts. Broke it out of packaging at first campsite and, took about 10 minutes to setup, seasoned it, and it was ready to go. During the 10 days, I used for breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes) and dinner (hamburgers, hotdogs, steak, veggies, grilled onions / mushrooms, bbq chicken, and the like). Outstanding results. Easy, Easy to clean. What I really love about this unit is that the legs fold making it easy to store (store this in the RV storage compartments). The tray comes with thumb screws, once removed, the legs fold nice and compact and breaking it down is quick (minutes). I simply placed it back in box it was delivered in until the next stop. I plan on getting the one of the carry cases for the griddle top for future trips. Would also recommend getting the 5 piece grill tool kit if you don't have it already . I highly recommend this griddle. One other note about Customer Service. During the trip, I had somehow left behind one of the thumbscrews for the under tray at a campsite. Was able to work around the screw with no problem for remainder of trip. I called Blackstone and told them what I did and they sent me a replacement thumb screw free of charge! It was at my home when I returned from the trip. Impressive customer service!

Great for grilling!
We bought this as a gift. It was on the registry and he loves it. He fired it right up the first day and everything worked as expected. Heโs able to fit it anywhere in his carport, and the food was perfectly grilled the first time and every time since. Highly recommended!

Just buy it
Probably the best cooking item I've ever owned. Food tastes so much better cooked on a griddle, especially a well seasoned one. Do not make the mistake some of the low scoring reviewers did by not properly seasoning it. It's really easy, and you can find plenty of tutorials online for doing it. after even using it one time and seasoning it like you're supposed to, it will pretty much lock in the non stick and rust protection. Just make sure you do it it every time. The pictures I'm posting are of the grill (with other accessories) when I first set it up, and then making breakfast a few days later. Yes, I've only had this thing for three days now and you can see the difference in what the surface looks like when you season it and care for it like you're supposed to. I've only cooked four meals on it so far and you can see the surface getting that nice dark, black coating that you want it ti get. Out of the box, it took maybe a maximum of ten minutes to set it up, it comes mostly assembled right out of the box. Legs fold in for easy transport, top grill surface is really heavy. Only issue I ran into was the two outside burners (it has 4 total, 2 for each knob) do not ignite every time with the ignition and I have to use either a long lighter or a stick to transfer the flame over. Not a big deal for me at all. My food has come out a thousand times better than stove top cooking and despite the amount of oil you're using to season and cook with, food comes out almost grease free. It's like magic. I use it on my porch as my now daily cooking station, but I can't wait to take this thing camping.

A nice all around griddle
I find that I use this griddle almost every day. It frees up my kitchen and cooks meals in almost half the time it would on my stovetop in a pan because I can cook so many different items at the same time for a small meal or a large meal. The griddle itself was easy to set up (watch Youtube), easy to season, easy to move around, easy to clean, and fun to use. However, there are a few things about this particular Blackstone that I don't like. The first is the shelf to the side of the grill leans downward allowing items to slide off the shelf. The shelf needs to be removed when changing the propane tank rather than just lifting upwards and is very small in comparison to the grill itself. The griddle warps if both temps are differing. If one side is hot, the other medium, the hot side warps upwards making it shaky. I also can't get my griddle to fit into the holes where it is supposed to lie to stay secure. The paint on the front has washed off after just a few months leaving the OFF missing and instructions gone as well as half of the Blackstone logo gone. I didn't do more than gently wipe it down after using it for the paint to smear off. Overall, this is a great addition to my outdoor "kitchen", but there are a few downsides to this particular version of the Blackstone Griddle.

Weโre loving this thingโฆ
Our griddle arrived Friday morning and we assembled it Friday night. Saturday dinner was 3 kinds of fried rice then Sunday morning breakfast of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and onions and pancakes. All prepared on the Blackstone. Before cooking we seasoned the grill 4 times with Blackstone griddle seasoning (sold separately). I do not recommend this. Seasoning the griddle is paramount, but Blackstones product leaches a strange flavor into eveything cooked on it. I recommend to search for other high temp oils to use to season it. The rice we made wasnโt too bad because of the bold sauce kept the oil taste at bay. However it was very apparent in most of the breakfast items. I noticed it wasnโt as bad on lower temp cooking, but using high settings causes it. In the future we will be seasoning ours with refined coconut oil as thatโs the oil we do the majority of our cooking with. We did buy a comprehensive set of griddle tools for cooking and cleaning, these will be important. Before covering our griddle we thoroughly clean it, coat it with coconut oil and cover it so itโs ready for its next use. The rear grease trap is nice, itโs out of the way and super convenient to remove for dumping and cleaning. The entire unit is of high quality and super easy to assemble and use.

I love this thing!
First of all, let me start by saying that I don't like grilling. I had a really nice gas grill for several years and just never got into it. After letting it sit unused for five years, it was just done. Recently, I was doing some research on different grilling options to see what was out there. My neighbor mentioned that you can buy a "hibachi" grill for home use. That sounded exactly like what I was looking for which led me to the 28" Blackstone griddle. I debated whether to get the 28" or the 36", but I ended up getting the 28". This thing is awesome! I actually enjoy cooking on it. Once you get it seasoned, which is not very hard to do, it is super easy to clean. What I hated about grilling was the open slats, the clean up, and I would always want to lift the lid to check things out. With this, none of those problems exist. I've been able to cook crab cakes, cut up chicken (grilling chicken can be difficult but not on this), pork chops, and some excellent burgers. My neighbor ended up getting one too! I'm glad I got the 28" as it has been plenty big for my family of three, but part of me wishes I got the 36" now that I've gotten more into using it...

To season well you have to tombe the griddle around. Use avocado oil until everything is black
Very nice product, comes with a black stone tissue cover already so donโt buy one. A little difficult to season in the corner and the front but you can use stove mittens and move the griddle around the burner to season completely. Nothing is better quality for cash.

Solid flattop grill
Great grill so far, used for an event to cook a few hundred pancakes, and performed well. Be ready to spend an hour seasoning the grill top before use (instructions included). Keep an eye on the last burner to make sure it ignites, once its burning it works great. Feels like good quality materials, simple to build.
