what is thee difference between this model and the pro-c indoor model

Hi Sandy - the main difference is that the PC300i is a modular controller with 3 zones, that can be expanded to as many as 15 zones using PCM modules.  The XC800i controller has a fixed number of stations (8 in this case).  The Pro-C will accommodate up to 6 hours of watering per zone, where the XCore controller will handle only up to 4 hours per zone.  Price wise, because it is expandable, the Pro-C is usually more expensive than the XCore controllers.  There is a version of the Pro-C controller that also has a fix number of stations.  It is the PCC controller (Pro-C Conventional) and comes with 6, 9, 12 or 15 zones.  Because it is a Pro-C controller, it has the exact same programming features as the modular Pro-C, but for a little less cost. Question 2

Can it be set to run on one program only even though the other two programs have been set up?  Then switch it to run on another program only?

Yes, you just turn the start times for each program on off as necessary.  Go the the program, then select the start time and either set the time for the program to turn on, or to turn it off, adjust the time to 12:01am and it will say "OFF". 
You can also turn a program off by just going to the "days to water" and turning them all off.

Does this controller come with a internal transformer?

Question 4

Two of my sprinklers have lost their covers. Can I get replacements?

Check with your local hardware store or the manufacturer of the sprinklers. Lots of time they have replacement parts.
