Mail Boss 7106 Curbside Steel Post Mount Security Locking Mailbox, Black, Extra Large, 21 in. D x 11.125 in. W x 13.75 in. H

I purchased the Mail Boss 7105 curbside, security, locking, mail box and the MAIL BOSS 7120, in ground, powder coated, Steel Mail Box post, to mount the MAILBOSS on.I mounted this combination into about a 12" post hole dug and filled with most of one bag of Quick setting concrete mixed in the hole . I also set the post into a half cement block, above ground and filled the space around the post with cement and set some large landscape rocks into the surplus cement around the post. I set a two by four on top of the post (to protect the post) and hammered the post into the ground about 4" to keep it upright and steady while my cement dried. I sprinkled the remaining cement into the rock cracks and then sprinkled water to wash the cement into the rock cracks. This mail box is solid !!! This has the MAILBOSS very secure with over 100# of weight holding the MAILBOSS and post in place.The MAILBOSS and steel post have a matching powder coat finish and looks great. The MAILBOSS is a well built ,great looking, and very secure mail box. The instructions are very simple and easy to follow. The MAILBOSS comes with a universal mounting plate with screws for the MAILBOSS post or for mounting to your wood post. I followed a previous reviewer suggestion to mount the MAILBOSS with a slight forward tilt to make rain run off to the front of the box. My mail has been completely dry through several heavy thunder storms.This mail box handles a large amount of mail and small mail packages that can only be accessed with a very nice and sturdy security lock. There is a nice dry place to put out going mail but this mail can not be secured with a lock. Most mail delivery people will not carry your key to open a locked mail box. Think about it, how many keys would they have to carry and sort through too pen each box? I suppose any mail box could be "FISHED" with enough time and effort, but this mail box will give you very secure mail protection.This is a great , very secure and easy to use solution the your mail security concerns. My mail carrier loves this mail box and has no problem using it. Be sure to check box height and distance from the road mounting requirements with your local post office.

Long overdue upgrade, and couldn’t be happier. Very sturdy, well designed. Super easy installation took around 10 min in total. Impressed that they even included a really nice drill bit (a keeper)!Tip: watch your measurements - it’s pretty deep (21”) compared to the surrounding boxes. A bit shorter than my last box, but what a difference 😀👍🏼Also - I upgraded to a different set of numbers. The ones pictured are NOT what comes with it (they are good, but small).

My first one arrived damaged, likely dropped in transit. Corner was smashed in and flap didn’t open. But I was able to return it and get a new one quickly. After removing my old plastic mailbox I was able to slide the matching post over the old 4x4 post and screw it in. Once that was fine and I filled the dirt back in, installing the actual box was easy as pie! It took me longer to put the numbers on than the install took. Just need a screw driver & ratchet. Very excited to have my mail protected and plenty of room for it.

I love this mailbox! The price gave me cause to pause (at first), but I have done my homework on mailboxes. I've tested them at stores, and even walking up and down my own neighborhood, to see if they truly were 'secure'. Every one I'd try, I could get my arm nearly all the way to the bottom (and all the way in many cases). THAT'S NOT SECURE, LOCK OR NOT! Think of kids walking home from school (with much smaller arms) for instance. I've had my mail stolen before with my old mailbox. I feel much more secure with this one. NO WAY anyone is going to get inside the slot to my private mail and information!The box is made of beautiful sturdy, well built material (it's heavy!). I doubt I'll ever have to change this box out or buy another one. My mail person can even fit relatively small packages inside (not too large...but Mail Boss does have boxes that can handle larger ones if it's your preference, just do a search). This one is perfect for my needs, most anything my mail person delivers, he can get into the box. If not, he'll leave it on my porch, as usual.The locking mechanism is not flimsy, and easy to open with key (I notice other brands I'd have to jiggle the key and so on to get the very cheaply made lock to open, not to mention it would be easy to just break it open anyway). This lock is SECURE.This is well worth every dime, believe me. I have neighbors now asking me where to get it. OH and no worries about kids batting it down either, I cannot stress enough how strong this mailbox is. I LOVE IT!!! Even comes with extra keys (keep your paperwork and register your box, because IN CASE you lose your keys you CAN get another lock, they thought of everything!)There's also a shelf where you can put small outgoing envelopes for your mail person to pick up. I'd advise against putting anything with personal information though, just because that part is not locked (the mail person would have to have a key if that were the case). But it's quite convenient for simple outgoing mail where you are not concerned about identity theft.Customer service is top notch as well. I had a very minor flaw in a spot of finish on mine and contacted Amazon asking how I could fix it, and they immediately sent me a new one with a PREPAID return label for the other one. It was minor enough I did not expect that, so what a pleasant surprise, THANK YOU AMAZON! The new one is absolutely FLAWLESS. This is the 'Sherman tank' of mailboxes!I HIGHLY recommend, am I clear enough? This is a clear example of getting what you pay for...expensive, but WORTH IT!

This is a very strong, heavy mailbox. It’s very easy to install, however, one of the holes where you attach the box to the mounting bracket was very badly misaligned. I couldn’t deal with the idea of repackaging, hauling and returning, only to have to go through the entire process again (63 year old woman doing it alone) so I bought a metal bit for my drill and made the hole bigger. I strongly suggest you check that the holes align BEFORE you install.

After my parents entire neighborhood was a victim of mail theft (most houses using flimsy locking mailboxes) I installed this. Super solid and theft proof. There is evidence of attempted break ins (pry marks, etc.) but at a zero percent success rate.Works perfectly and has kept my parent's mail safe!
