Happy camper, love this flash.
This is my second sigma flash. My 1st experience was good with a Pentax DSLR. I jumped on this for my canon DSLR and was not disappointed. Worked great for my daughters graduation.

Not perfect, but useful for some purposes
A much cheaper alternative to the 580EX II. I can only assume that the guide numbers are accurate, which would mean it provides a bit more light than the 580. There are a few areas in which it's definitely inferior to Canon flashes, and they're likely to have varying degrees of importance to different people: * It only has three stopping positions when you tilt it upwards, and the first is maybe 80 degrees; the last is a bit backward. * The battery compartment door is very poorly designed; it comes off easily and is tricky to replace (it isn't designed to purposely come off, it just does). * There are only three modes in which it can operate: ETTL II, full power, or 1/16 power If you're only interested in lots of light straight forward, or angled nearly straight up for bounce, in ETTL II mode, then this is definitely more cost-effective than a Canon flash.

Great Flash at a Great Price
This flash is very flexible and meets all of my needs as an enthusiast photographer. The flash recycle rate is pretty fast, even at full power, when using rechargeable batteries. The battery life seems pretty good as well. The flash is plenty bright for general purpose - I often use it to light back drops (either white or with color gels) and it does the job just fine. It's also flexible, you can use the flash in manual or E/TTL modes and also as a master/slave for other Sigma flashes. The controls do take a bit of getting used to, but after a couple days with them it's not all that complicated. My only complaint is that the battery door is rather cheap plastic and seems pretty flimsy.

Took continuous portrait shots on Canon T2i with 24-105mm lens ...
Took continuous portrait shots on Canon T2i with 24-105mm lens and tripod but flash triggered intermittently leaving most of the photos dark. Same results with timer. Flash is OK if you are taking one photo at a time and not using burst mode.

Better than I thought it would be
I just ordered this flash, and I was a little cautious, and even was thinking that I was making a mistake by not spending $100 more on the Canon flash. Well, when the flash came today I was very impressed. The feel and functionality was much better than I expected. So far, I am very pleased. If anything changes, I'll be sure to update my review.

Excellent budget flash.
Very good flash with adequate settings. Effective TTL metering. Size of the flash head assembly is a bit larger than similar Canon Speedlites, so if you are attempting to use Speedlite accessories (diffusers, etc.) with this flash, please be advised that they may be very snug or just not fit.

Very good for its price
Not perfect for canon camera, but very good for its price. If you have budget limitation, you can buy this flash

Poor service delivery.
It is a piece of junk, buy for Canon, but I sent Sony. I live in Venezuela now I can not return it for an exchange. This is bad service without excuses, maybe the product is not to blame.

Funcionamiento perfecto

Quindi promosso a 4 stelle!

Great gun.
This was not the gun I was hoping to buy but the first choice was out of stock. I am glad I got this one as it is a great flash unit for the money.
