Lasko Oscillating Ceramic Tower Space Heater for Home with Adjustable Thermostat, 2-Speeds, 16 Inches, Silver, 1500W, 5309

Basically, I do not use electric heaters. I had an out of town guest coming to visit and I live in the Midwest in an old house and thought if she got cool, I could use the heater. I am so happy that I purchased this one. it is small enough to carry without difficulty, yet provides a lot of heat. I haven't used it much and when I have, it has been kept at 70 degrees while oscillating. It heats the space nicely and quickly. It is not noisy. I have used it in my kitchen (it's about 132 sq. ft or 11 x 12 ft.). There is no heat unit in the kitchen except for my gas stove. So, in the morning the kitchen is quite cool. The Lasko heater worked great in the kitchen. I have also used it in my living room which is about 480 sq. ft. In the living room I only used it to warm my feet and the area around me when watching TV or doing some other task. In both areas I placed the heater on the floor. In both areas it did the job quickly. So I have never ran it for any great length of time, because I haven't needed to.

I'm really sorry some people have had problems with this heater. If so, return it!! Demand a refund. I have had this unit for about 2 months and it is all I wanted in a small space heater. [Please note: "Small Space Heater". Not because it is small, but because it is intended to heat SMALL SPACES.] I got it to keep my legs and feet warm while I am at my PC, which is under a window, and in the cold months can get very chilly. I just needed something to keep my feet and legs warm. I have two Lasko fans that I am very pleased with, so I went with this heater. It has 2 fans in the "tower", one above the other. It has 11 heat settings. I usually use only one fan (unless it is REALLY cold), and the heat setting at 1 to 3. Some people have shown images of melted units. Okay -- if you're going to run this heater on its highest setting, with both fans, for --- HOW LONG, then, yeah, it just might melt. (OR you may have a faulty unit. In that case, return it, and get a new one.) I have checked this unit (used at lower settings) during its operation, and the plastic housing is always cool. ALWAYS. This is a heater that should probably be used only for short periods, or for longer periods at low settings. The owner needs to exercise caution with its use. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO HEAT A LARGER AREA, BUY A LARGER HEATER. This one is intended for smaller areas and limited use-- meaning that it should not be run on high settings for prolonged periods of time. It is NOT intended to heat an entire house or a very large expanse. As a heater for a small area, or a smaller room and in limited use, it is EXCELLENT and provides more than enough heat. I would absolutely purchase it again if it ever wears out.

I bought this space heater based on the (mostly) positive reviews it received, and so far I really enjoy it. My girlfriend kept cranking up the thermostat during the winter, so I thought this would be a cheaper alternative to heating the whole apartment. You always read the "horror story" reviews for products like these, but you have to take those with a grain of salt. This is a very nice heater for the money. - Heating Ability: It has three settings - one is just a fan, then heat intensity 1 and heat intensity 2. The heat intensity 1 is perfect for stashing the heater under your desk and keeping your feet warm. You need to keep it close to you (within a foot or two), but the heat it puts out is just right to keep you comfortable. Heat intensity 2 is suprisingly strong. I can keep it within six feet of the couch and it quickly heats up the local area and keeps the two of us very comfortable. It would take a while to heat up your whole living room, but people expecting that shouldn't be buying a space heater in the first place. - Noise: One of the major selling points for me was the reviews stating how quiet this unit is. I would tend to agree with those reviews. The sound emitted is a soft white noise, I would say equal to or less than the volume of a window fan on "low". The volume doesn't change regardless of the heat setting (fan, one or two), and you shouldn't need to adjust your TV or music volume while running this heater. I've heard other space heaters run much louder than this one. - Smell: I'm not sure what others are talking about with this "noxious odor". I know the smell they're referring to (kind of a burning plastic smell), and this heater produces minimal or zero odor. Unless you have an extremely sensitive nose, you have nothing to worry about. - Cautions: This heater does not have a tip over safety feature, meaning if you tip it over, it doesn't automatically shut itself off. The front grate of the heater does get hot to the touch (equivalent to grabbing a cup of coffee without the handle). I don't see anyway it could start a fire, but it would burn you if you left your hand on there for more than a few seconds. Because of this, I wouldn't leave it running unsupervised if you have animals or small children. - Value: For around $30-35, this is a nice heater that should satisfy the needs of most people with realistic expectations. Highly recommended if used properly. I also agree with others that the oscillation feature doesn't do much, but that's ok.

No issues at all with this heater. I find it to be fairly quiet, the heat output is great, I experienced none of the smells that others have written about, and the oscillating feature is nice. I would buy it again, and I can recommend it in good faith.

Compré este calentador por su precio, ya que para el tamaño que tiene es un precio realmente accesible. Esta opción te manda la máxima potencia del calentador ( yo lo uso en una habitación de 10 metros cuadrados por 2.5 metros de altura. Trascurrida aproximadamente media hora, la temperatura de la habitación es lo suficientemente agradable para vestir una pijama delgada. una vez alcanzada esta temperatura paso a la siguiente configuración. - Low. Esta opción la uso cuando la habitación ha alcanzado una temperatura de mi agrado. Aun que tiene el inconveniente de que la temperatura empieza a bajar muy gradualmente (quizás por el tamaño de la habitación) - Temp. "Según el manual de usuario"; Con esta opción puedes elegir la temperatura que deseas que se mantenga en la habitación... una vez alcanza dicha temperatura el calentador baja a su mínima potencia y en cuanto la temperatura baja de cierto rango, el calentador volverá a aumentar su potencia. ( en mi caso no lo podido verificar ya que lo uso por las noches para dormir, así que no me he percatado de los cambios mencionados) lo que si puedo decir sobre esta opción es que tarda mucho en alcanzar la temperatura indicada y entrar al modo de potencia mínima, ya que he activado esta opción y permanecido despierto hasta por dos horas y no he notado el cambio de potencia. Pero en general excelente producto. Cumple a la perfección con su objetivo, es muy elegante y la calidad se nota.

Llego muy rápido, el 24 de Dic por la mañana. Calienta rápidamente espacios pequeños como baños y habitaciones. Hasta el momento funciona muy bien, espero siga así.

me encanto tiene dos variantes de calor y es oscilante lo cual crea brisas agradables para dar calor a la habitación, tiene un seguro de temperatura y se apaga en automático pero enciende cuanto ya esta frio el termostato del calentador

Love putting this heater on my desk a few feet away at a low setting to blow hot air directly on me. Nice and warm, heats up pretty much instantly, and isn't noisy at all. I left it running a bit longer at a higher setting to see if it would warm up my entire open basement, but it did not seem to make much of a difference. So it seems appropriate for heating smaller rooms or a person directly.
