Always wanted to try this, finally did
I'd heard about this for years, thought I could do a cheaper version with either regular old aluminum foil, cardstock or random bits of photo material I had around... and I "kind-of" could. This however is far faster for making little snoots. I'll need to tweak them a bit but this material works nicely. On using regular aluminum foil, it creates hot spots where this material does not. I use lots of small 5" work lights rigged with 11" magic arms on 3/4" jointed / swinging galvanized pipe on my workbench, which is also where I shoot still and videos for our YouTube channel, and I think that if I only use this foil to create snoots / spotlight effects... it will be well worth it.I also use 1" gaffer's tape, just handy stuff to have around and works well for this foil. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase and I do think I'll get real use from it.

Good stuff
If you know what this is, you probably know how to use it and you know how handy it is. If you don't know what this is, buy some and play with it. It's basically very heavy duty black aluminum foil that enables you to make on the fly gobos and cookies and otherwise modify or restrict light. It's super useful to have around. Unless you're shooting a movie, one 50' roll should last you a long time.

Use this to make my own barn doors on my led lights.
I use the Rosco Matte Black Cinefoil to make my own barn doors for my lights. It gives me the ability to angle light the way I need and in the place I need it. I even can take the eyeball light over my head and redirect it toward my back drop. Very thick, but easy to mold to your needs. Highly recommend.

Works as expected.
Works well for blocking light and reflections. You can bend it and it’s think enough to hold it’s shape. But I learned the hard way that this foil will give you a world class paper cut, so use caution.

A life saver on indie film shoots
I’m in a local film club and we use this to darken windows when we have shots that include the window. This stuff is a life saver! We cut to window size, spay window with water, put gel on window, then squeegee out the bubbles.Sometimes it’s just better to kill the incoming light than to amp up the light in a large room. Makes getting an properly exposed shot much easier.Very much recommend having it in ur kit even if it is a bit expensive.Remember it can be reused if your carful with it. Buy some Poster tubes to store the material u use for later.Great product!

Works Great
This is my first time using Cinefoil so I don't have anything to compare it to but I'm very happy with this product. It's thick enough to shape and hold it's shape and blocks light exactly as I want.

This is a stand by for my photography
I have used this product for years, two rolls in 40 years, so this will likely out last me,

Used to make black tendrils /vines from Stranger things
The media could not be loaded. Would like more for the amount of $$ it cost but it is good quality and very thick aluminum. Black on both sides.
