It is 1 1/4” the whole length, except in the middle where it attaches to the weight machine where it gets slightly bigger.

Is this lat pulldown bar hollow or solid construction?

Hollow. Wet lite weight but very strong and holding up to machine weight 300lb stack.

how much loadable weight can the bar handle before it bends?

I can’t answer based on the engineering technical number. That would be the company answer. What I can say is I use it on a 400 lb Hoist cable machine and have had no issues.
