Boveda 72% Humidity Control Packs, Size 60, 12-Ct - for Dry Environments

The 84% Boveda packs worked perfectly to re season my humidor. I dropped 6 of them in and let them do their thing for a couple of weeks. I replaced them with 6 72% packs, since my humidor is large and not totally sealed, and the result is a steady 67% humidity. I actually prefer it to be around 65%, but I just dry box my smokes for a couple of hours before enjoying them. The simplicity of using the Boveda packs takes all the maintenance guesswork out of the process. I keep a couple Govee BT hygrometers in the humidor and check in on them a couple of times a week. Couldn't be happier with the setup!!

Excellent way to keep your humidity and check items arrived quickly and in great shape

I love the humidity control packs for keeping my cigars at their prime humidity. But they have shipped my last two orders in bags instead of boxes. Of course they had been crushed and had a few packs squished. Just make sure you request shipping in a box. Other than this problem it is a great value for the money and your quality smokes will appreciate it.

These are super easy to use, all you do is open the pack and throw it in the humidor. They don't have any smell to them unlike some other hydration methods. They are small so they fit easily into any humidor. They last a long time for me but that varies based on ambient humidity and the quality of the humidor. They are a little pricey but you can rehydrate by soaking in glycol after they become hard and get a second use out of them.

These packs are generally excellent at keeping stable humidity in my small tabletop humidor. I use a calibrated hygrometer and these packs keep the humidity nearly dead-on. I have used water with polyethylene glycol, and it works, but is messier and requires a lot more attention and tweaking. The Boveda packs are great for those of us who are forgetful or too lazy to keep up with humidor maintenance. There is, however, one caveat. The winters where I live are long and very cold. I don't have a humidifier for my home, so humidity levels frequently drop below 20 percent, and It's a struggle to keep the humidor in the acceptable range. I suspect it's partly because my it's inexpensive and probably not perfectly sealed. I say this because I also have a clear acrylic "humi-jar" that does seal very tightly, and the same pack I put in months ago is still going strong. But when it's that dry, the Boveda packs struggle to stay near their rated humidity inside the wood humidor. I've put in two or three at a time, along with a container of PEG/water mix, but it still dries out. So what I do now, every month or so, is "re-season" the wood with distilled water. That seems to really help the packs maintain a stable level of humidity. If you live somewhere dry, don't have a high-quality humidor, and don't want to mess with anything, I would suggest trying packs rated higher than your actual desired humidity level. Despite that caveat, I'm still giving these five stars because under less-extreme conditions, or with a quality humidor seal, they work perfectly and last a long time.
