Front Forged Adjustable Track Bar for 84-01 Jeep XJ/ZJ/MJ - 1042

This track bar is a work of art. When you pull it out of the box, its shear beauty will amaze you. They’ve built a beautiful part right here. It’s forged, so it’s really heavy duty. The adjustment sleeve works flawlessy. I installed one on my Jeep, and one on my buddy’s Jeep. Put a little anti seize on the adjustment sleeve threads before you install it. Your alignment tech will thank you. One note that you will find most helpful.......Buy the Rough Country 6610 drop pitman arm to go with it. I didn’t realize it, but after a lot of research on Jeep forums, I learned that the track bar and pitman arm need to be the same height, or your steering will wander all over the road and be very sluggish to respond. Mine was unsafe at highway speeds. I bought the RC 6605 pitman arm, and it was still too short. I called Rough Country, and the guy there wasn’t any help. He said the 6605 should work. Well, it doesn’t. The bracket that comes with this track bar is built well, and it drops the bar mount 3-4”. It’s a nice replacement too, because the Jeep bracket was rusting out. This bracket is solidly built. I recommend using new flange bolts on the vertical bolts holding upward into the frame. We have a farm & fleet store here that sells these grade 8 flange bolts by the pound, so you can get new bolts for under 50 cents a piece. The 6610 drops it the same amount, putting your pitman and track bar back in line. They should put this in the ad that it’s what you need. They tell you you need one, and then don’t say what. 6610, 6610, 6610. Good luck getting the old pitman arm off. It’s a pain. If you break the bolt in the lower axle mount, which you probably will, don’t worry. Take a 4-1/2” angle grinder and cut the bolt thru, getting the old track bar out of your way. Then, knock the flag nut out. The new track bar comes with a nut and washer, although you’ll spend a good thirty minutes trying to get it in there and fit a box wrench in. Hope this helps all of you. This is an easy review. First off this product is a good bit beefier than the stock track bar so don't worry about that. The adjustment sleeve is well made and seems pretty quality. I installed this on a 4.5" RC lift kit. I had to expose about a quarter inch of threads on either side of the sleeve in order to get it lined up with the factory bolt hole, so don't worry about this being too long for you. If you're worried about it being to small, there was probably about 4 inches of threads left on either side after I installed it. Install was very simple, the parts fit very well. I accidentally cross threaded a bolt, but I put this on at 2:30am. The ONLY problem I had with installation was actually removing the old trackbar. It was a chore because the bolt was rust welded to the nut and the inside of the bushing. Took a lot of hand cutting to get it outta there. Anyway, great product, I'm sure it will last a long time and my wheel adjustment guy will probably thank me for this install.

Not satisfied with this track kit. Didn’t know I would have to order oem bolt because the bolt they send is to thick on one side. Don’t even fit the track bar.

Heavy duty construction and easy to install and adjust. Bracket is made with thick gauge steel and fits great! All around great quality.

Very solid product and easy install as long as your jeep cooperates. To align the best way I found was to install he bottom end, let it hang, shake the jeep from both sides, and then adjust the bar till it fits flush with the hole on the mounting bracket. O and ofcourse do this on a level surface LOL. Also over tighenting can cause really nasty sounds (don't ask me how I know).

I've broken two trackbars for my Cherokee since I lifted it. The main issue is the bend at the top to clear the differential cover under full flex/compression. Not fun when your 400miles from home crawling the moster obstacles of Moab. Most buget rate companies don't take that very serious. This trackbar clears great! In my research nothing in this price range comes even close. It's sold Forged construction is second to none. Also no weak buget Heim joints to wearout prematurely.

Quality is much higher then the pictures can show.My biggest concern was the adjusting sleeve and to my surprise it was very heavy duty, it's definitely not thin like you would find on a tierod. Installation was a breeze and the Jeep feels much tighter going down the road.

I recently removed the 2" budget lift from my XJ and installed a 4.5". This is a must for any lift over 2"

I recieved this trackbar for my ZJ that's lifted 5 inches. Quality is amazing and it's super strong. Feels great on the road. However the bushings lack quality. Everything's put in and tight but the bushings have so much slop in them that my death wobble came back worse than it ever has. Changing them out to poly bushings and re drilling the holes. Will post an update if that solves the only issue I have with this bar
