Withings WS-50 review
I've been doing a lot of bathroom scale research and as far as I tell, this is the most advanced consumer model available at any price. There's so many patented features on this scale that comparing this to anything else wouldn't be fair. When buying a product like this, keep in mind that you're getting more than just the scale. You're also going enjoy using their free smart phone app and their free website. If you're like me, you'll also want to use this scale with many other smart phone apps and websites. At the time of this writing, this product is compatible with more than 60 different apps and websites!I just received my scale a few hours ago and I am already VERY impressed with both the scale and the smart-phone app. The first step I performed was to download the free Withings app to my Android phone from the Google play store. If you have an Apple product, you can download the app just like any other Apple application. Next I removed the plastic tab from the battery compartment placed there to keep the batteries from draining during shipment. Then I linked my scale with my smart-phone with the bluetooth feature. The Bluetooth pairing was very simple after I pressed the "pairing" button on the bottom of the scale. Next I setup the Wi-Fi feature by selecting my wireless router with the Withings phone-app. When that was done, all I had to do was sign up for a Withings account by providing my email address and a password for the Withings account. Setting up the account only takes about a minute. You will be asked to provide your name (for tracking your account), 3 characters for your initials (which will be visible when you weigh yourself), your height (for BMI calculations), your gender (for accurate bodyfat % calculations), Your age (presumably for bodyfat calculations), and Body Composition Model (I kept the default value, but I will need to learn morea about this setting). That's it. I've literally spent more time typing this paragraph than the time it took to set everything up.Next I setup my Withings account to automatically share data with my MyFitnessPal account and my FitBit account. The Fitbit compatibility most surprised me because they also sell their own wi-fi bathroom scale. A simple google search was all it took to learn how to link my accounts together and it only took a few minutes from start to finish! Now I'll never have to worry about writing down my weight every morning and typing it on my computer located at the other side of the house! It just works!Other things worth mentioning.- If you're not standing on the center of the scale, arrows on the corners of the display will tell you which direction to shift your weight for a more accurate reading.- The scale uses 4 AAA batteries and they come pre-installed. Just be sure to remove the plastic tab covering one of the batteries before use or the batteries won't make contact.- The build quality is great and the design is stylish and sleek. The glass-like surface may need to be cleaned often but I'll learn more as I start using it.- The 4 legs are on ball&socket sytle legs to help evenly distribute the load to the floor evenly. As a mechanical design engineer, I really like their design.- The display is very nice white-letter on a dark background design.- This model not only measures your weight and bodyfat percentage, but it also measures your heart rate, room temperature, and airborne carbon dioxide levels. I'm not yet sure what I need carbon dioxide level information for, but at least it sounds cool.- Up to 8 users can use the same scale. Somehow the scale is smart enough to identify each unique user and automatically track their information separately.- The scale is packaged in a nice resealable cardboard box with a plastic lifting handle. This is important to me because I travel a lot and plan on taking my scale with me. The box features cutouts to protect the legs and protection in all of the right places. They put some serious thought into the design of their box and I appreciate it!So far my only two very minor complaints are related to the Android phone app, and they're probably not even problems. When you first start the app, the screen looks blank. I thought it was acting like it was slow to load, but it turns out that I only needed to tap the screen to get to the main "dashboard". My second gripe is about the comment field below each weigh-in. The app allows you to type out a message on your phone app below each weight entry, but as far as I can tell (as a novice user) each time you enter a comment it seems to be assigned to EVERY weight entry when you only intend to assign it to one particular weight entry. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Anyway, I'm not very worried about it because if there's a problem I'm sure it will be fixed in the next smart-phone software upgrade.I've been very excited about this product ever since I pre-ordered it before the official release date and overall I am VERY pleased. You should buy this product too.

My Favorite Scale
I've owned a few different scales that show you more than just your weight, but never one that was connected to the internet and could upload the information. I've owned this scale for nearly a month now and used it twice a day, and I can access the saved information free of charge via a mobile app or an internet browser at any time.Pros--- Accurate weight numbers compared to calibrated mechanical scales (provided you are using it on a hard surface, of course)--- Fairly accurate body fat numbers compared to calipers - granted, body fat percentage is difficult to track, but this scale allows you to see accurate trends, if not pinpoint accurate numbers (which no home tool will show you)--- Instantaneous wireless syncing - you'll be able to see your numbers online or on your phone right away.--- Great app and site. Easy to navigate and see all your information and trends.--- Great connectivity. Works well with other devices and other apps, like Runkeeper and MyFitnessPal, adding their information to the app overview.--- Great customer support. I had a small issue and was responded to (via Facebook) in under 12 hours.--- Very nice looking. Maybe not a big concern for most people, but this is the Cadillac Escalade of bathroom scales: it's nice, black, sleek, and generously sized.--- Multiple profiles with automatic switching. It can keep track of your whole family, all separate from each other, without any annoying button pressing or changing settings.Neutral--- CO2 level tracker seems effective. This one isn't a big deal for me but it's neat to have. If it starts to trend up, open up a window! Obviously this is of limited use if you're keeping your scale in the bathroom.--- Temperature tracker. Again, not terribly useful. A thermometer does the same job. Interesting to see how the temperature in the room changes over time if you're a nerd like me, otherwise not worthy of note.Cons--- Heart rate monitor is finnicky at best. I would not rely on its results as they vary by as much as 15 when you weigh yourself twice in a row. On the other hand, they seem accurate for my brother, so your mileage may vary.--- Obviously more expensive than most scales. Many people may think that a $150 scale is out of their price range. On the other hand, if you use it for five years, you're paying eight cents a day for your whole family to be able to track their weights and body fat, in a form that they'll be able to use in the long-term.OverallIt's a great scale. It does what a scale should do and a lot more. I recommend getting the Withings Pulse Wireless Activity Tracker + Sleep and Heart Rate Monitoring, Black with it, since the Pulse syncs and uses the same app while also providing an accurate IR-based heart rate monitor, filling in the scale's only weakness, while also tracking all your activity and sleep to provide a more complete picture of your health.

Muy buena báscula se configura bien con la aplicación, tiene muchas mediciones hasta ritmo cardíaco, ahora que ya es Nokia la aplicación me gustó más.

Good scales and arrived earlier than expected.
Scales work well and delivered earlier than expected. However due to an update from fitbit it no longer syncs.

Great Scale
This scale is terrific. The mobile setup made it easy to install and get working. I did find that adding a second user was a bit confusing but once it was done - the scale works great. I like the information it provides and I like that it connects well with other programs such as LoseIt! and Fitbit. I would recommend it!

I can not say enough about how fantastic this scale (and Withings) is. But I'll try.
This is an amazing piece of equipment. Precise, sleek, beautiful, and most of all, useful. Sets up in just a few seconds, all you have to do is pull the tab from the battery compartment and press the pairing button. Even if you don't have any other Withings device you can still download and use the Withings app for free, and it and this scale integrate seamlessly via your home wifi. It updates your app automatically every time you weigh in, you don't have to do anything at all.Not only does it display your weight, but if there is more than one person using the scale, it knows which one is you by comparing your weights. If two users are close in weight, it displays both names and you simply lean your weight toward the side with your own name. After weighing you, it tells you what percentage of body fat you have, then measures your heart rate. It then tells you whether it's likely to rain today (by displaying a large umbrella and rain drops), and then goes on to give you an air quality reading which includes the current indoor temperature and the amount of CO2 in the air. It takes all these measurements and seamlessly uploads them to your Withings account (both of which are completely free). As if this weren't enough, it can track up to eight (8!) users, and integrates perfectly with other apps as well, not only Withings ones. I keep track of my calorie and exercise intake and expenditure via an online program called Cronometer, and every morning when I log into it all my Withings measurements are there, updated, ready for me to see and consider as I plan my day. This scale is simply amazing - I've never seen or owned anything else like it. It's given me just the incentive I need to lose the weight and keep at it.I cannot say enough about Withings, but I will say one more thing. More than a year ago I bought a Withings Pulse, a small device you can wear on your wrist or in a clip on your clothing somewhere. Withings recently updated to the Withings Pulse O2, which added the ability to measure oxygen saturation levels in your blood as well. I was disappointed that I hadn't waited for the newer model, until I got an email from Withings inviting me to download a new update that turned my Pulse into a Pulse O2 - FOR FREE. As a company they do not get any better than Withings. I was seriously impressed. Their products work beautifully and properly and really enhance my life. This scale may seem expensive but it's worth every single penny.
