Forced apart by their families and society, Hazel and Mari both married young men and had families. Decades later, now in their mid-'60s, Hazel and Mari reunite again at a church bingo hall. Realizing their love for each other is still alive, what these grandmothers do next takes absolute strength and courage. This Jackpot Edition contains over SIXTY PAGES of bonus material, including the talents of MARGUERITE BENNETT (Batwoman) and newcomer BEVERLY JOHNSON, SHAWN PRYOR (Cash and Carrie) and PAULINA GANUCHEAU (Zodiac Starforce), award-winning historical romance author ALYSSA COLE's comics writing debut with SHAE BEAGLE (MOONSTRUCK), GAIL SIMONE (CROSSWIND) and MARGAUX SALTEL (Superfreaks), and AMANDA DEIBERT (Wonder Woman '77) and CAT STAGGS (CROSSWIND), with illustrations from MEGAN HUTCHINSON (ROCKSTARS) and ARIELA KRISTANTINA (InSeXts). Plus a sneak peek of BINGO LOVE, VOL. 2: DEAR DIARY, with an afterword from GABBY RIVERA (America). Review: Amazing LGBTQ+ book with women over 40 - TW: dementia, death of a loved one Rep: Queer, Pansexual This was such a fun read and I was swooning over Hazel and Mari! This is an important story because every LGBTQ+ coming out story is different and many come out later in life. The illustrations were STUNNING and seeing a Black woman with a darker skin tone is very important because they are often overlooked due to colorism. I really enjoyed Hazel & Mari's story & I was not expecting that ending :/ Review: stop reading reviews and just buy it already - loved reading about 2 queer Black women's love story as they aged! so much queer stories and media are focused on under 30s aged people, and it was welcomed to see how queerness doesn't have an age limit. loved the graphics and bonus stories too! definitely recommending to all the Black queer women I know and love.

Great
I read the first edition, and tried to hold out to read this expanded edition before valentine's day, but I could not wait. I read it all in one setting. This book expands a bit more on some details not covered in the first book, such as Hazel's husband and paints a bit more into Marie's backstory. I do wish to read a bit more about Marie, because her life is not covered nearly as much as Hazel's. Overall, this is a great edition, and a must read, for fan's of the first edition.

Cute and Sapphic
Bingo Love was cute (and surprisingly emotional) and the bonus stories were a great addition to develop the characters. CW: homophobia; infidelity; death; religious bigotry

Beautiful and Sweet
This was a very sweet story. I love the families that were created in this book and everyone was very well written. Seeing stories written about the older generation of lgbt+ folks is so refreshing and we need more happy stories. Plus these old gals are super adorable and share my love of bingo.

Beautiful story
Have a box of tissues because it has sad parts but it is ultimately triumphant.

A beautiful story of love and adversity.
A beautiful story about a couple who have loved each other since they were teenagers, but due to societal disapproval, only get to be together in their senior years. Wonderful art as well and lots of extra content in the Jackpot Edition.

Amei!.

Wonderful
I knew this book was going to be something special before I even read it. It's a graphic novel about a mixed race queer couple who meet at a Bingo Hall as teens, become best friends and then their friendship develops into romance. They are then separated by their families when they are spotted kissing and pushed into marrying men. Years later they accidentally bump into each other at the same bingo hall and rekindle their love in their old age. This novel does not shy away from the realities of family expectations, relationship issues, body positivity, the health problems that can develop in old age and the attitude towards the queer community especially in the 60's. I'm so glad I made sure I got the jackpot edition because it has so much more bonus material and after the way the story ends I was an emotional wreck so this really helped to kind of calm me down a little! I loved that the extras are also collaborations from other artists. Mari and Hazel are wonderful 3D characters who are funny and imperfect and beautiful. Their actions aren't always morally the best but they accept that and grow because of it. I've seen some reviews calling the dialogue a little stilted, I personally didn't get that impression but maybe it's because the author is trying to fit a whole lifetime into so few scenes? There are a lot of declarations of love in the comic but I also really appreciated how in the Jackpot edition there is a story about Mari working too much and the pair starting to become distant and then having to overcome that. This story is beautiful, raw, real, heartbreaking, sweet, funny, empowering and has very diverse representation. CW: war, homophobia, dimentia, infidelity

Mil estrelas
Já é uma das melhores HQs que li esse ano, sem palavras para o trabalho maravilhoso que Tee Franklin e os artistas convidados fizeram aqui! Espero com expectativa o volume 2.
