Can you add it to bho and dab it?

Yes and No. this is a non polar solvent so too much and you can taste the harshness. If you’re looking to add a little flavor add one drop to a gram. Because this is just one terpine it will not give you amazing flavors like strain specific ones will found else where on the site. However, if you have the creativity and desire there are plenty of compounds from CC plus food grade limonene here in amazon which can be used.

Is this a clear liquid?

yes it is. not water clear though. oil clear because of the texture.

Is this an essential oil?

I would say no? Alpha pinene is a pure chemical. It would be a component of essential oil of pine. But an essential oil will generally be composed of many chemicals. There are exceptions of course where an individual chemical makes up over 90% of an essential oil such as wintergreen. But if you are looking for essential oil of pine alpha pinene would not be it. Alpha pinene is a terpentine and will smell like pine, but there are many other terpines in pine.
