I installed this suction grab bar in my shower, and it works wonderfully. I was a bit skeptical about suction cups at first, but this one is incredibly strong and sturdy once locked in place. It doesn't budge at all and provides excellent support when getting in and out of the tub. It’s very practical since it requires no drilling, so it won't damage the tiles. Just make sure to install it on a smooth, clean surface. It really adds an extra layer of safety to the bathroom. Highly recommend!

These handy grab bars stay put wherever you place them. Make sure you clean and dry the area where you are placing them so they adhere better. Don't miss that step, or they might not function as well as they are meant to. They are super easy to install. I feel safer in the shower now because I have a balance issue, and they are sturdy and big enough for me to easily grab.

This is the second one of this brand I've had in 2 years and I'm just now replacing it. You have to check each time because the suction will occasionally break and the grip can be unsafe. Clean the tile with lime cleaner if it needs it. There can be no soap scum. (Never use anything labeled as soap and you won't get scum. Use body washes.) After a year or two the plastic will become more rigid and they will fall off and not stay on. Then they're done, but this one lasts better than the others. I'm giving in a 5 because it does about as well as can be expected from a suction grip. I got one of the fake chrome ones with a worse suction and it didn't stick a day. Suction isn't the best solution but I can't drill on this wall.

Pretty good. Do not use it to support your weight as you get out of the tub. It's basically for balance support as you exit a tub or shower. It's not bolted down...suction cups hold it in place. Balance only!

Update no 3 on 2/10/2025: This bar lasted far longer than I anticipated based on experience with other suction type grab bars. It remained firm for more than two years in a fiberglass shower surround until I removed it when I moved in late 2024. It only fell off the wall 4 times during the entire period it was installed. I kept the bar and have it in storage while I am temporarily staying with family before making a more permanent move soon. Even though I originally purchased it for my late husband who needed something for balance, I found it helpful on occasion as well. Update no. 2 on 5/16/2024: I'm very pleased with the durability of this bar. I've now had it in our shower for 18 months (as of next week), and I can count only 4 times that it has fallen off the wall. Three of those occasions were after I had cleaned the shower surround and, I think, I'd not replaced it firmly. The last time was because I needed to clean the shower surround (my bad). The springs, as far as I can tell, are holding up well and help to maintain a good suction. The last bar purchased for my loved one was from a different manufacturer and had only lasted about a year; it was not maintaining strong suction and falling off the wall multiple times a week. This bar, by comparison, has outperformed our experience with other suction bars we have purchased to date. Update 10/24/2023: We've had this suction grab bar for nearly a year. I think it has fallen a maximum of maybe 3 times, but those happened AFTER I had cleaned the shower surround and I think I did not firmly reattach the bar in those instances. The springs have held up well. The bar helped make showering so much easier for my loved one with neuropathy. I've even found it handy for myself when dealing with mild vertigo for a short spell. One additional benefit I've observed after a year of use is that the smaller diameter of the grip portion of the bar is well-suited for those of us with smaller hands/shorter fingers than some of the other grip bars. For balance, this has been a solidly helpful aid. I bought this to replace the Carex suction grab bar my family member had been using for about a year; the springs were no longer functioning properly and the bar kept popping off the shower surround wall even after cleaning and using alcohol wipes). I wanted something that would be relatively secure with good sturdy springs, as my family member has balance issues due to neuropathy in his feet and legs, and has trouble with his balance. Also, my family member was coming home after an extended time in the hospital and a skilled nursing facility for physical rehabilitation, and I was concerned that he might even try to use the bar to help get up and down from the shower chair. I'm happy to say that, so far, this grab bar has served my family member's needs well, had held secure and has not loosened or popped off once in the entire time we've had it. I do check it regularly and have been impressed with its hold. The diameter of the bar is a bit smaller than the ones we've previously used, which actually makes it easier to grasp and hold. My family member has remarked several times how much he likes the 16-inch length (longer than prior bars we've used) and the bar's strong hold. As we are unable to install permanent safety rails in the studs because we rent, the Safe-er-Grip Bar has served as a solid alternative.

Don’t buy this bar or another one like it, unless you understand that overtime they lose their section and will fall off. I’ve had a number of these bars overtime. They’ve all done that within a month or two. I’ll hear a big thump and they will have fallen into my shower floor. If you’ll notice they are not advertised as security bars; they are bars that you hold to make you feel more secure, but if you grab one hard enough, it’s likely to fail. That’s been my experience. They’re easy to put up and they look fine, but don’t put these bars in a location where you are totally dependent upon it for getting in or out of the shower. Overtime it will let you down. That’s just the way it’s made.

Good price for a great product. As it says, it is only to help you keep your balance; however, I tug on it to test it prior to each shower and it hasn’t budged. It is small and doesn’t get in the way. It is a good safety feature for anyone of any age.

This works excellently. Doesn't look too intrusive either. Seems very strong and is a great help getting down the step out of our shower.
