What type of battery does this take? I need to buy a new one.

It uses a CE-2032 coin battery.

Help. How do I get the back piece off to change the battery.

Twist off the round white cover on the back of the unit.

What is the circumference of the probe?

The probe is about 2 inches long and .5 inches wide.

Will this work In a plant terrarium with water misters?

I used this for my egg incubator, which required adding moisture a.k.a. humidity. The probe is a sealed piece, so as long as the meter portion isn't inside, you should be fine.
