Does this work okay on grass/lawn areas?

No, no it does not. In fact, we lost the rubber tip in our lawn within the first two days of owning it. Flybar sells replacements, but the shipping is not reasonable.

My son is very small - just over 40 lbs. Do you think he's heavy enough to get this to bounce?

I think it depends on his gross motor development, our son weighs 8 lbs less than his younger sister, neither of them struggle on it but he's much more athletic and stronger so it's definitely easier for him

My son just got this and it seems to be really loud as he is bouncing... not the landing itself but the spring. does this get better or is that normal?

It's noisy all the time. Not super loud but I can tell when he is bouncing even after a year.

What is the weight limit?

Usually says about 80 lbs, but works well up to abt 100 lbs. If a beginner, start with this one. It gives them a bit more control than the next level with tighter springs.
