For anyone interested in seeing the anatomy of the brain, this really brings the textbooks to life. This kit comes with everything shown in the picture. It does not come with plastic gloves, eye protection, or paper towels, so make sure to have those on hand. Everything else you need to dissect the brain is there. I had some dissection tools on hand (science student), but found I didn't need them for this basic dissection. The kit says it is non-toxic, so basic hand cleaning and disinfecting the area afterwards should suffice. On the sheep brain you are able to see many of the landmarks of the human brain. The sheep's olfactory bulbs are larger in proportion to a humans, but tomato "tohmato". I would highly recommend watching a sheep brain dissection before this, and briefing yourself on the basic functions of each part of the brain, and as well as the flow of cerebral spinal fluid. No matter how many hours you spend with a book, seeing the actual brain makes neuroscience so much clearer. The brain itself is very easy to do a basic dissection with. The kit gives you a step by step direction as well as some very basic neuro facts. I would recommend doing a little bit more reading on the topic than is provided by the dissection lab kit. Other than that, I would highly recommend this to any medical, health, or science student, high school or junior high student, or anyone curious as to how the brain works. I should probably not write this, but I would easily pay double for the knowledge gleaned from this kit. The shipping was fast, it took less than a week to get to Omaha. Overall great product, and I would recommend to all.

My 6th-grader needed a hands-on project to round out a research project on the human brain and was able to follow the instructions for this kit on his own and was able to round out his presentation with what he learned from it. Can't believe we could get this online!

I purchased this dissection kit for my 10-year old nephew who is interested in the workings of the body, particularly the brain. This arrived much quicker than expected, it was packaged well, and exactly as described. I did not dissect this with him, but he called me shortly after he dissected it and told me that he loved it. He told me that it came with a book explaining the different areas of the brain and what they are responsible for. He loved it! I would recommend this for anyone thinking about purchasing.

This was so much fun! Who knew you could buy sheep brains on the Internet. It would be nice if it came with more than a plastic picnic knife. We ended up having to grab a sharp kitchen knife to really get in there. Definitely a fun and enriching activity.

Bought this as a gift for a 17 year old interested in potentially becoming a neurosurgeon. A fun interactive kit that gives easy hands-on experience. The tutorial is a little simple for older teenagers and may be best for middle school age.Still an interesting way to spend christmas morning.

I received this very quickly. I am not familiar with dissection specimens. It seemed okay, though a little squished in its packaging. It served my purposes.
