What happens with the outer net that holds it together - does these have to be removed before transplanting, or does it also dissolve away?

Have used in sandy and clay soil. They have never dissolved for me. I find that I have to remove the netting on the bottom of the plug when transplanting, or the plant will become root bound and die.

Why is one dimension in millimeters and the other in inches?

How long do they last? If I only use 50 will the other 50 be good next year?

as long as you havent wet them they will last a long time & are usable.
