**Excellent 7-String Guitar — Jackson JS22-7 HT, Not the JS22-7**
I purchased the Jackson JS Series Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT 7-string guitar on July 2, 2025, and it arrived the next day. At the time I purchased it, the guitar was priced at $249.99. I was fortunate enough to have a $50 Amazon gift card, which I applied to the order before placing it, bringing my final purchase price down to just $199.99. As of now, the guitar is listed on Amazon for $269.99. This is an excellent 7-string guitar, and I have no cons or downsides to report. The guitar has a satin black poplar body with an arched top, a one-piece maple neck, an amaranth fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets, and a 12"-16" compound-radius fingerboard. It has a 1.875" (47.6 mm) nut width and a 26.5" (673 mm) scale length, which provides excellent string tension and low-end articulation for a 7-string guitar. The guitar is equipped with dual Jackson high-output 7-string humbucking pickups in an HH configuration, a three-position pickup selector, master volume and tone controls, a Jackson HT7 string-through-body hardtail bridge, sealed die-cast tuning machines, dual-action truss rods, black hardware, and Jackson's piranha-tooth inlays. One specification worth pointing out is the scale length. Amazon's Measurements section currently lists the scale length as 25.5 inches, but the specifications for this particular JS22-7 DKA HT state that it has a 26.5-inch (673 mm) scale length. Therefore, the 25.5-inch measurement shown in Amazon's Measurements section appears to be incorrect for this model. I am still using the stock strings that came on the guitar, and I have been very impressed with the sound. The Jackson high-output pickups sound excellent through my Line 6 Spider V60 MKII modeling amplifier, producing plenty of powerful tones for metal and other heavier styles of music. In the video accompanying my review, I am playing "Psychosocial" by Slipknot on this 7-string guitar through my Line 6 Spider V60 MKII modeling amp. The additional low string makes this guitar particularly useful for heavier music, giving me access to lower notes while retaining the familiar feel of a guitar. Pros • Excellent build quality for the price • 26.5" scale length • 24 jumbo frets • Comfortable 12"-16" compound-radius fingerboard • Jackson high-output 7-string humbucking pickups • Excellent tone through my Line 6 Spider V60 MKII • String-through-body hardtail bridge • Sealed die-cast tuning machines • Attractive satin black finish • Comfortable Dinky body design • Excellent choice for metal and heavier styles • Excellent value for the price I genuinely have no cons or downsides to report with this guitar. It has performed exactly as I hoped, and I have been extremely happy with it since purchasing it in July 2025. If you are considering purchasing a 7-string guitar, I highly recommend the Jackson JS Series Dinky Arch Top JS22-7 DKA HT. It offers an excellent combination of playability, tone, features, and affordability. The 26.5-inch scale length, high-output Jackson humbuckers, 24 jumbo frets, compound-radius fingerboard, and hardtail bridge make it a very capable instrument, especially for metal and other heavier styles of music. I am very happy with this guitar and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, high-quality 7-string.

Love it!! Don't be afraid of a cheap guitar
first off, 5 stars is based off price, and packaging ALONE. mine came today in 3 boxes, with wedges to keep it square, very nice foam and coverings inside. the guitar is 100% intact and perfect. setup was minimal, I will be doing it again when i get heavier strings. the strings that come on it are perfectly fine if you're playing in standard (BEADGBE). I will be drop tuning significantly. IF YOU'RE NEW TO 7 STRING, this IS the guitar for you. as i said, for the price you CANNOT beat this thing. very well done on Jackson Guitars and the seller here on Amazon. The paint is slightly wonky, it's not smooth like you'd imagine a matte finish would be, but i personally do not care. I buy guitars to play them not to look at em, HA! I can't say enough good things about ordering this guitar on here and it showing up unscathed. If you're tempted to order, just do it. 2026 and you can get a 7 string with flawless electronics and great sounding pickups, for under $300 and on your porch in just 2.5 days. Go for it!

Nicely made 7 string
Nice guitar for the price, sounds great but may need a little tweaking to get it's full potential. Would definitely recommend at this price range.

very solid guitar!
the guitar itself has a pretty great balance setup with the pin positions, very little neck dive as far as it goes the neck shape and feel I can honestly say its totally worth it!! i have stayed away from 7 string guitars as i had a Ibanez Ax7221 and boy the neck on that guitar was a wide D as opposed to a small D or small C which this one has, it makes an amazing difference and it feels comfortable to the point that I actually want to play it!, ive been going for drop A tuning, bear in mind you will have to invest in some thicker gague strings as the stock ones get a bit sloppy if you tune down like that. the pickups themselves is nothing much to expect for this price range, then again I was only playing with amp and onboard OD, with some decent EQ and pedals this should still sound pretty dang good, I still would consider this guitar with some mid-high end pickups to haul you a long way if you want to consider this for gigging, i can say its worth every cent! Currently I am picking guitar up again as i have not played for a solid 4 years and i can genuinely say i am having a pain free experience playing with this guitar :) get it! you will definitely not regret it! weight wise its not feeling too bad at all, not sure if its because i'm picking up the gym again but i usually have a struggle for guitars that have some weight , some back issues and this one doesnt feel too bad at all, have not played 2+ hours in a single session so far but all in all i consider this feels lighter than most guitars ive had there are a few cosmetic scuffs which i have not bothered to go about cleaning up, beside fret marker 24 there are a few white marks which looks like some sort of small impact on the part, i'll see what i can do to get rid of those and on the face of fret 1 there are whitish streams, not 100% sure what its from, but looks chalk like, no major issue and I honestly forget its there, but when i sit down to do a full maintnence check up on the guitar I will take care of it

Great Value - perfect for the "I want to try a 7 string" guitarist
I waited 6 months before posting this, because I didn't want the review to be just first impressions. Quick summary: Surprisingly good guitar for the price. Quality Control is iffy (to be expected). May need some setup (bridge adjustment). I look at this as the "good bones" guitar which is okay out of the box, takes a little setup, and can be amazing with some upgrades. First off, the quality of the guitar you receive will likely vary. This isn't surprising at the price point. I noticed a significant difference in the two I received. That said, it is usually fixable stuff. Also, I am not comparing this with my $1,500 + guitar, or even my $800+ guitars. That said, I do think it is surprisingly comparable to a $400ish guitar. Which surprised me. Neck: straight when I received it. very comfortable to play (especially considering it is a 7 string). Feels thin (despite not really being that thin). Frets: Decently smooth frets, required a slight polish / wipe. I have a couple sharp fret ends that need to be filed down, but they aren't enough to really bother me (hence I haven't actually filed them down yet). Bridge: works great (it's a fixed bridge, hard to screw that up). Action is set high (all cheap guitars are), easy to bring it down. Intonation was actually pretty close out of the factory, still required some setup. Pickups: they work. can't expect $250 pickups on a $200 guitar, but they are decent and get the job done. honestly, from what I see, most people starting out on a 7 string are chugging the 0s. These pickups are fine for that. That said, there are plenty of great pickups you can drop in to give this guitar a truly awesome sound. Tuners: Decent. Do their job okay. If/when I upgrade, probably one of the first things I would swap out. Not really a negative, but the low B gear ratio on the tuner makes it a little hard to dial in the tuning. To be clear, this is more of an inconvenience than an actual issue. Conclusion: This is a great guitar for the right person: (a) guitarist looking to experiment / try a 7 string, (b) guitarist on a budget that needs a 7 string, (c) guitarist that wants to upgrade pickups. Who this guitar is NOT for: true beginners. If you are just starting out playing a guitar, get a 6 string that is already set up.

Great guitar!
Great guitar for the price range! I got lucky when I bought it, grabbed this on sale and only paid $158 lol. I'm an experience player and this is my first 7 string and I love it! I had it set up with Ernie Ball 7-String Slinky Cobalt 10-62 strings. I also had a bone nut installed (get rid of that trash plastic nut that it comes with). I installed locking tuners and Seymore Duncan Nazgul/Sentient pickups. This thing sounds great! Even at the current price it s a great buy. I did some research and all of the reviews I found had noting but good thing to say about this bad boy. If you're on the fence, just do it. You will be happy you did. I do recommend making the changes Idid to mine. It plays great.

Good quality
Plays perfect right out of the box I didn’t have to do any set up to it at all and feels very solid when playing.

I am absolutely stunned at how amazing this guitar is for the price
Ok, so some backstory to my purchase. I was 13, mowing lawns over the summers to save up money. I caught an interest in 7 string guitars for a whole bunch of reasons, but I won't go over all of them. Fast forward 2 years and I've finally saved up 200 dollars to buy this guitar. I bought it, and it was delivered 2 days after my birthday. I've had it for almost 3 weeks now. Pros: -Thin neck when compared to my other guitars. -The built in pickups are pretty good. -There are more high frets when compared to my other guitars. (there are 24, as my others all have 21.) -the fretboard is really smooth and feels great to play. -a little lighter than some other guitars I've seen. -extra low range means you don't have to change tunings all the time. -built in tuners are pretty nice. Cons: -intonation is an issue with a lot of extended range guitars. This can be easily fixed with a pair of skinny top, heavy bottom strings. -takes a little while longer to tune than a 6 string. Overall, this is an amazing guitar. It's really something special, especially due to how cheap it is compared to It's competitors. The matte black finish is the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend it to someone else who is just getting into 7 strings, as this is my first 7 string and it took no time at all to get used to the feeling of it. If you haven't played guitar at all though, I wouldn't tell you to buy this, as you want to start on a 6 string and upgrade to a 7 as your skills increase. (And yes, it djents.)

Excelente sonido. Supera expectativas.

The King of Jackson has spoken
Even though they sent the wrong guitar initially, they immediately responded to my return request and right away they sent me a prepaid shipping label and immediately sent the correct guitar. Costumer service was great and I even ended up wanting to keep the first guitar that was sent to me, to which they immediately helped me pay for, so I could keep it. They responded really quickly and even called me to make sure everything was done correctly. Both guitars feel and sound great! 10/10 will buy again!
