My son absolutly loved it!
My 10 year old son googled ikitmovie after he got a comment about his brickfilms on youtube. He had been making his animations with movie maker but found it limiting and at times frustrating. He absolutely loves the iKIT. The webcam that came with the KIT made things easier for animating but he can still use his digital still camera and import the images also. The sound fx are the best feature. He really wanted to know how to make explosions and this software allows him to do it very easily. I would recommend it to anyone and it also makes a great gift!

Terrific way to get going with Stop Motion Animation
Practically ready to go right out of the box and very easy to use. I have done various stop motion projects using a hand-held camera. This one uses a web cam (included in the box) and it makes things so much easier. The process is very intuitive and easy to use. You set up your scene, snap the shots one by one then add your music and sound effects. Then its a one button publish. Very good way to start out in animation. I like it. And I really liked the library of sound effects that come with it. Just drag and drop a sound into your timeline wherever you want it, very easy.

Crashes, Crashes, and guess what? It crashes!!
I purchased this and found it easy to use BUT, once I started creating movies with more than 1000 frames, it repeatedly crashes. Sometimes if you copy and paste frames within your timeline, it crashes. Sometimes if you delete audio from your timeline and then try to insert new audio, it crashes. Sometimes when you open a project it will give errors stating it cannot load certain audio files and other times it won't. When attempting to add voice overs, sometimes it crashes if you attempt to remove them from the timeline. In the tutorials on IKitmovie's website, they show inserting audio with proportional wavelengths showing up in the timeline so you can determine start and stopping points for audio and where to insert the mouth movements but, mine always shows up flat. I've emailed them twice about the audio but they won't respond. This is a fun package to create animated movies as long as they are very short but if you're at all interested in getting professional results or at least using a software package that isn't completely bugged, don't use IKitMovie. I would strongly suggest getting DragonFrame or something else.
