Not well constructed
For the cost this is truly a "you get what you pay for" product. The plunger is plastic and since the diameter is fairly large (instead of a precise point), you have to make sure that you keep the surface of the plunger perfectly flat against the object you are measuring.

think before wasting your money!!
I should've known better by looking at the price before purchasing. I tgought the small size would be good to carry around in my pocket instead of my larger micrometers which i cannot carry and are much, much more expensive. I work with stainless steel and need to measure thickness of my material. The measurements aren't accurate. I would recommend spending the extra money and get something better. Dont be fooled by the price.

I Like Mine
Pros: Small and accurate, easy one-hand operation. Very inexpensive. Much handier and faster than a vernier caliper or micrometer.Cons: Limited to 1/2" thickness. No points to help measure inside diameter or distances like a caliper. does not turn on as you press the trigger--needs a separate press of a button to turn on/off.If your job involves a lot of under 1/2" measurements, you will like this unit. I keep mine near the drill press for a quick size check.

Ideal tool for what I bought it to do
Build quality is what you'd expect for the price or better (made of plastic, caliper portion appears to be made from a higher grade ABS) - I use this not for my final ultra precision tool, but for putting in my pocket when I'm out buying wood to confirm thickness, as wood is often not milled to stated thicknesses - perfect for what I bought it to do/ size is great for pocket

Best value portable thickness gauge
Excellent for measurement of thickness where 2 place accuracy is acceptable. Very good value when compared with high price instruments that are don't do much more. Easy to use, carry, inches or millimeters.

Defective Item, Irresponsible Seller
The thickness gauge arrived defective: the battery was dead and, after replacing it, it only worked for a few seconds. I contacted the seller; he agreed to take the item back and issue credit. I returned the gauge but no credit was ever issued and subsequent e-mails were not answered.Hans CamenzindSan Francisco

No traía energía la batería incluida, la tuve que comprar y cuesta 150 casi la mitad de lo que vale el aparato, no recomiendo este por el costo de la batería
