Great septic tank system probe. I found the septic system distribution box in a matter of minutes. This probe is super strong and won't bend. I highly recommend this product.

Works great, very heavy duty! If you really bear down on it, it WILL puncture a PVC pipe, so be 'gentle'. (Personal experience IS ALWAYS the best teacher!) We've used ours MANY times, and it works great. Just wipe it off, and maybe a very light coat of oil or grease, and it'll last HUNDREDS of years!!! So, this can be one of your HEIRLOOMS!!!! Only problem is, no one in the future will know what the hell this tool is for!!!

Great construction and material quality but found the rough probe corrosion coating is very durable and creates a lot of drag when trying to shove into the ground. After several tries everyone that has used these ( I bought 3-4) abandons them and goes to the bare steel rods with bent handles that are not as comfortable and definitely not as safe but much easier to probe to depth. I was hoping with use these would polish up and get easier but the coating has exhibited almost zero wear and so has lots of drag /friction even when putting full body weight over the T Handle. It is strong, comfortable, and corrosion resistant.

I had been looking for a 3/8” diameter probe, thinking that would be better in my shaley soil. The rugged 1/2” diameter shaft of this tool permits the user to repeatedly pound downward to break through or bypass loose shale and other rocks underground. The tip has remained sharp. I initially received a tool that was longer than specified, but Bully Tools made it right in quick fashion with no hassle.

I don't write many negative reviews. I'm kind of the opposite of most. I like to praise things. This arrived and will be a good Tool for my needs of gopher tunnel hunting to try to rid them from my yard, but somebody put tape on the handle of this for no reason. The said tape proceeded to leave its glue behind in the heat of the shipping vehicles. Now the tape has been removed, but the tape goop is left on the rubber coated handle. I'm using this to dig in dirt, so the goop gets on my hands because it's tape adhesive and then the dirt I am working in is a mess on my hands. I shouldn't have to wash my hands EVERY TIME I TOUCH this thing. It's sad. There was no reason to have it there. It served no purpose but to make this a mess to use. Otherwise it is great! And if an Amazon employee put the tape on the handle, then you have caused this company an unfair review. Update: 8/4/2017 The vendor commented they don't put tape on their handles, which makes sense because it served no purpose. I upgraded to 5 because it is nicely made. People complaining of them flexing or bending may need to try the shorter 3' model.

Jan 15/ 2016. Southern ontario. We've been below zero for a week now. Today was plus 4, took the probe for a test drive. After 5 or so stabs in the same location, it busted through the frost layer and slid all the way down the 4 ft of the shaft. This thing is awesome and didn't flex, bend, or wobble . Can't wait for spring time. This will help out with the bottle hunting definitely. Quality tool at an exceptional price.

The diagram of my septic system said the septic tank is 17 feet from my house. I dug around for a day and found nothing. Then I got this probe and found the tank 6 feet from the house within 10 minutes of poking around! Wish I knew about these probes before, this one works great and is good quality (sturdy and handle grips or good)

Product quality is good however seller should consider protecting the foam handles when shipping as the product was shipped in a bag which had tears or slice marks in the bag which went through on the foam handles causing splits in the foam
