Time Again...Amy Grant Live

Good to hear Amy Grant live again after all these years
Amy Grant had two live CDs (reissued as CDs) or LPs in the 70s or rather 1 album but in 2 volumes. She sounded good live in that CD especially the accoustic moments with her and just her guitar. The accoustic set on this new live CD does not sound as sincere and as intimate as it did back in the 70s. Perhaps it was a different era and she was just starting out. Nevertheless it is still good to hear her sing live after all these years. Her pitching is good live as well as on CD for a female voice. I was disappointed with her choice of songs for this live set. The only song I truly enjoy was Simple Things. But overall not a bad live CD.

An All-Around Spiritual Experience
As a long-time Amy Grant fan, I knew I would enjoy the songs performed in the concerts at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. However, having seen a number of other live performances in person and on DVD through Netflix, this one stood out for several reasons. First, the mixture of gospel songs with the well-known pop songs really told stories in a broad range of uplifting and hopeful ways. Second, the band members came from a variety of backgrounds, musically and personally, yet really complimented one another on and off stage (a DVD bonus feature allows viewers to learn a few extras about the band). Finally, the more intimate performance material was showcased with special personal touches such as a western painting and a couch from home used in the medley of early songs Amy performed with a black and white lighting stage effect. The audio commentary by Amy really adds to the "superfan" experience. Contrary to what she said, this was not her first commentary ever (she previously commented on her music video collection, which I also have) but I still enjoyed it. My only disappointment was that Amy's song "That's What Love Is For" was not featured. Overall, though, the experience was first-rate for me, especially since I welcome the smaller, more "intimate" venues such as this. As a big fan of Amy Grant with regards to both her music and persona, this is a prime example of why "I Will Remember You" (in this case, I will remember her and those who made it possible).

Stroll down memory lane...
I have been a huge fan of Amy Grant since she started out as a teenager. This DVD is of high quality - especially when you listen to it in 5.1 surround. As some have said - the editing is a bit much at times as the camera angles jump around too much in some songs. But - still a worthy addition to any Amy Grant fan's collection. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is for the video editing. Everything else from the sound, the concert and song selection is first rate.

Terrible Editing
I love Amy Grant. She is a fantastic songwriter and entertainer. But the editing on this DVD is just plain BAD. The editor must have been a video game writer. Every 1/2 second (or less) the scenes change. Also as a musician, I like to watch the guitar player, BUT, they mixed clips from the two shows they did in Texas. One second the guitar player had one guitar the next second he had another guitar and then back again. I believe they whole problem was that they did not have enough cameras. So they would throw in scenes from either show to give them multiple angles. At one point several of the songs were in black and white. For "special effect"? I believe they had cheap cameras that could not record well in color under low light conditions.Yes, I have this DVD and I love to watch it for the musical content, but please re-edit the thing!!!

Time and Time again
Beautiful and spellbinding, Amy looks wonderful and comfortable on the stage. I saw her 25 years ago and this DVD brought tears to my eyes watching it. What a beautiful stage and group of musicians that accompany her. And the additional features make such a big difference in the appreciation of the production. The name is perfect, you will watch this time and time again.

sub-par
Looks to me like "Cathy E" is the only reviewer here who looked at this objectively. The editing on this is a total disaster! It *almost*, as Cathy E said, resembles a hard rock concert, except that, in this case, it even lacks the visual rhythm that most hard rock concerts would have. Digital zooms and pans are used, apparently just because someone was enjoying the new editing toy.The sound is nowhere near what DVD is capable of either. And, as compared to the times I've heard Amy live, this performance borders on lifeless. Unless you're a diehard Amy completist, I really think you should try to find a rental to look at before you decide if you want to buy.

Oh Amy
I hadn't seen her for quite a while, actually since the 90's and someone sent her and Vince on the Fb doing a duet Christmas song so I went searching and found this here... This disc reminded me why I Loved her so much... Every song on it was done so well it was a joy to visit her again !!!
