Gerbs Raw Pumpkin Kernels 2 lb.

I tried several lower priced brands and was disappointed. GERBS has offered pumpkin seeds from Mexico and now Canada and the taste has always been spectacular. I eat these raw or air fry 280° to 350°, anywhere from 8 to 13 minutes. I cool them on parchment paper, letting them pop open from higher temperatures as they cool. Raw is healthier, 350° makes for a really tasty & crisp treat. I slide them into a jar, (and before they are too cool) add a tablespoon or two of olive oil and salt to taste, and shake.Especially when eaten raw and added to other foods (salads, cereal, even meats), they make for better chewing and, arguably, better digestion.

I just did a quick query on my Amazon account to find out how many pounds of pumpkin seeds I have ordered over the last few years. It turns out that I've ordered and consumed 25 pounds of pumpkin seeds in four years!I really enjoy pumpkin seeds and have ordered them from a few different sources here on Amazon. But this latest two-pound batch from GERBS sets a new standard in my book. Absolutely delicious!I don't have the the proper words to describe the freshness and flavor, but I will just say that these tasted the most "pumpkinish" to me so far. They are super fresh, and super tasty, and that's coming from someone who really fancies pumpkin seeds! LOL.I did notice on the bag that this batch was grown in Canada, and they taste like they are fresh from the farm. In my experience, the more local the seeds, the better the taste. A big thank you to our friends up north for growing a fine product!

Tastes good but not grown in US

This is a special product, and in a time when so much of what we consume comes from 'over there,'it's wonderful to have a food product from 'over here,' from Rhode Island, no less. I've relied on raw pumpkins for quite a long time, ever since I researched for healthy foods for prostate health... Beyond that, raw pumpkin seeds are extraordinary for heart and liver health as well. This Gerbs contribution is lower priced than the other brands I've tried and it seems to me that the quality is a mark above the others. I take about a quarter cup daily, in teaspoon portions in breakfast cereal and drinks. They are even quite tasty taken as a crunchy snack when I want to avoid a sugary obsession of mine, i.e., chocolate. I've begun to look for the faces of those two stalwart men on the label. The packaging for the pumpkin seed (pepitas) kernels (inner heavy duty resealable plastic bag and the outer mailer) was excellent. Kernels are tasty, whole and not broken. Have a pretty shade of green. Looks like they just came off the farm!
