Clearly Written and Based On Quality Research
Makes sense and if you follow the clearly laid out plan you will notice a natural testosterone boost and weight loss in short order. I started my dietary education with Robert Lustig (Fat Chance), who provides extensive evidence of the poisonous nature of the modern diet. I then read Loren Cordain (Paleo Diet). LaPuma came next in my reading and his work and Cordain's are very consistent with each other and with Lustig's research. A pure Paleo diet precludes legumes and grains, but LaPuma's doesn't, and Cordain allows to go a certain percentage Paleo. I have never had problems with grains or legumes so I include them in my diet. After seeing Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and reading the accompanying book (Reboot) I decided to do a juice fast. All of these authors are very consistent with what they have to say about human diet.

My new way of managing my health.
I decided to read re-fuel because I'm 59 years old, a little over weight, my energy level had decreased, and I really wasn't sleeping well. When I started 5 weeks ago my weight was 238 lbs. I'm 6' 4.5" tall and pretty much all the extra pounds was located around my belly. I do exercise "walk and lift light weights for toning", however I do travel quite a bite so sometimes I give it a back seat. As I was reading and starting to implement the Re-fuel plan, I wasn't sure if I had the will power to stick with it. But honestly, I was so surprised that I didn't miss any of the foods I was told to avoid. The citrus water I enjoyed, and Dr La Puma's free recipes on his website are awesome. So after the 5 weeks I'm down to 226lbs, my energy level is like when I was in my early thirties "my wife can't believe the increase" and I sleeping so much better. Plus when it comes to exercising, pushups and walking is much easier without the extra lbs. I also have to confess, I didn't follow ever item to the tee. I love Red Wine and one glass a week just wasn't going to cut it for me. I had to stick to my nightly routine. I probably would have dropped a few more pounds if I went with the once a week. The one thing that truly impressed me is that I sent Dr La Puma an email with a question, he personally gone back to me in a matter of hours. I can see myself staying on a healthy eating path from now on. I highly recommend this book.

Finally... a PLAN not a diet. This is the Ultimate plan to REFUEL, Let's get going!
Up until now I’ve been looking for and trying numerous diets. Some have worked for a time and others have been off base for my metabolism. Now I have found the reason why! “Refuel” introduced me to those reasons.I have been dieting the wrong way. In fact I didn't need to be “Dieting” at all. I’m not the kind of guy (I don’t think many men are) who asks their buddies…Do these jeans make my butt stick out? Men don’t seem worry about that. “Let’s get to the stadium and get that tailgate party started! Right??? Maybe Not!!!It’s not that Men don’t care… we just care about it a different way.Dr. La Puma’s book “Men Don’t Diet, Men Refuel” Is an absolute eye opener. It’s extremely well written to include men in their health and tells them why they need to be present. There are everyday tips and tricks to stay on track that mean something to men. Discussions on “Low T”, strength and stamina, how to lose the belly and rebuild lost muscle. This is the “Lost Manual” on Men’s healthy lifestyle and I believe we men needed something that addresses our specific concerns when it comes to supercharging sex, making it through the day with energy to spare and being refueled when we get home at night.I am committed to making this my New Years (and all years) resolution. “Refuel”, make it your next step on the road to boost your strength, your stamina, your testosterone and most of all… your life.

30+ with a ton of energy and fell like a million bucks
Dr. La Puma: I started your program when I started a new job on 8/18/14 and was 220 lbs. 43 inch waist and height of 5 ft 10. My back was killing me along with my knee which is bone on bone due to ACL replacement in 1996. I referee football and the weekend before I started the program I had severe cramps in my legs 3 times in the middle of the night and thought I was going to die!I followed your book to the "T" with a gallon of citrus water a day (I am now hooked). cooking my own meals with your recipes (which has been fun),Even though I did not do the exercise programs which hurt my knee and back, I still ref college and high school football. Since I started the program, I am now at 195 (25 lbs. loss) and 39 inch waist wearing pants I have not worn for 7 years!! NOTHING I've ever done before worked but it works!!My goal is to get to 179 lbs. and 36 inch waist by Thanksgiving and maintain which I was 8 years ago. I ref now with allot less pain, wake up at 6 a.m. vs. 8:30+ with a ton of energy and fell like a million bucks. Thank you so much and I've promoted your book to anyone who ever asked me "did you loose weight"?Ron

Just Clever Marketing
The glowing description lead me to believe this is something different - something specially designed for men's metabolism, food men will love because it is the way they eat differently from women, etc.Notice there are no details? Notice the "Look Inside!" does not include the table of contents, but only the author's glowing but detail-free description?Sure enough: eat lots of vegetables, avoid sugar, exercise, cook your own food (it's fun!), etc. Oh, and lots of endocrine/hormone/metabolic chemistry detail.Did I mention lots of recipes? How to make your kale and bok choy taste like a Cowboy Pizza?I am embarrassed to admit that I fell for it. Testosterone aside, this 70 year old male with too much "belly fat" was looking for an easy way out. Turns out I should have just opened my old South Beach Diet book. Nothing new here but the marketing hook. Move along, folks.Kindle edition, $10.65
