Nuovo Magari: The beat goes on …
This continuation from B2 is relatively seamless, and actually feels easier that I had expected after the shock of B2. The format is the same, and there is again focus on reading and oral (audio/video) comprehension and somewhat less focus on grammar training. On the more critical side I note that not all the themes are of equal interest or quality in presentation, there is some repetition, there are too many exercises (for those of us insistent upon doing all that are available), and a few of the videos are a bit bizarre. However, the determined student will benefit greatly from this leap forward. I combined B2, C1 and C2 with private tutoring, which allowed me to actively react to and discuss the themes presented in the book and to write essays in which I used my writing skills in Italian. The course is massive, and serves as an important reference book well after the course has been completed the first time around — yes, the course can and should be reviewed at a later date.

Great for advanced learners
Really like this book. Perfect for my level as B2-C1 learner. Only listened to two of the audio tracks. Difficult because they are up to actual native Italian speaker speed but definitely appropriate for this level. Good to hear many different voices. Clear Audio.

Fascinating cultural information
I used this book in an advanced Italian grammar class at a university. I thought the cultural articles were very informative and interesting. They contained information that I had not come across in the many years I've been studying Italian and traveling in Italy. You'll learn a lot about history, geography, politics, arts, society, mafias, media, dialects, and much more, all illustrated with great photos and graphics, on heavy, high quality paper. This book presents a wealth of current and historical information. It has some fun activities, such as crossword puzzles, and solutions to exercises are provided in the back of the book. Maybe not intended so much for self-study, but it works very well in an organized classroom situation. Or, you could just read it for its cultural value. Recommended.

Too confusing
This book is too confusing for language learning. I would not recommend it for italian language students.
