Stories & illustrations are good but the content does not justify the title '101 Panchatantra Stories' because of the following reasons-1.Illustrations are superb but they are of western style and not of indian ethos.Who would have imagined hat bearing man in the Panchatantra times!(See attached pics)2.Most of the tales are from Panchatantra but not all.3.Some stories involve plots around Church,St.Thomas(See pics).I have no objection to that but wow! Where would i find these in Panchatantra tales?So my conclusion is stories are very good but title is somewhat misleading.It should best be called '101 Enchanting tales'.That's why given one star less.Otherwise good read for children with good morals given at the end of each story.Overall a v.good book.

I just picked up this book for a refresher so that I can narrate a few stories to my son. Most of them were the ones that I had already read as a child so it felt nice to read them again as an adult. The illustrations of the book are top-notch.It was a good collection of stories but the disappointing part was that they were not all Panchatantra stories. The stories in between seemed to be taken from Non-Indian children's books. Also, a few of them were repetitive with a slight change of character or style with the same moral at the end. Felt like they were rescripted just to get to the count of 101 stories. There is one story with a moral that good deeds take you to heaven, I disapprove of the inclusion of this story since the target audience of this book is too young to understand heaven and hell of sorts.Overall it is an OK book. Had the stories been one on a page it would have better readability.

It's a good story book for kids and it was easy to make the kids sleep early by saying the stories from this book.

101 all time favourite stories for kids. Simple language, large font, colourful pictures and quality printing. Printed MRP Rs 200/- and Amazon sells it for discounted rate of Rs 121/-. Kids would love listening to these stories and it's the best way to keep them away from watching Mobile or TV.
