Product was just as described by vendor. Very easy to assemble and install and works as design. Quality appears to be very good although I have only used a few times since it was installed.

Installation was relatively simple, and the instructions were decent. It works, but I didn’t know what to expect for heat output. Because my wife didn’t want me to drill into our fireplace panel to mount the knob (so it is hidden inside the cavity), I had to set the dial to what I thought would be a good speed setting. We started with it at half. It worked pretty well and did push the heat out. We sit about 8 feet from the fireplace and could tell a difference in the room comfort (though we didn’t feel the heat coming directly onto us). But the blower seemed somewhat loud while trying to watch TV. I eventually turned the dial down a bit, but we still have some noise (not as loud), but don’t really notice the heat dissipation as much). I’m afraid if I turned the speed to the max it would be too loud to have on while watching TV.I’ll probably make the knob more accessible next year so I can play with the settings a bit more.I was also hoping this would magically connect with my remote control to control the settings…wishful thinking. Lol.

The original propane fireplace install was without the fan that was sufficient for looks but not function. Anyway, I purchased this and performed the install myself over an hour and saved a few hundred dollars on the unit and labor. For me it was a complete solution. The included temperature sensor then triggered the fan and heat began to flow into the living room. The fan came with a dial to increase or reduce the fan speed/noise. Naturally, the higher fan speed leads to increased noise but increased heat output. A few months later, the main house heater stopped working right before a cold spell. Luckily this was ready for use and it delivered. The living area around the fireplace stayed warm. The air conditioning team eventually fixed the main heater. Truly glad I got one of these.

Like many houses, ours had a decorative gas fireplace - pretty but doesn't put out much heat. My neighbor mentioned he had bought one of these because the one that had been in his house when he bought it went out. He raved about it and even gave me the printout of the Amazon site when I mentioned I might like to get one. It is like night and day when you have one of these - your fireplace is no longer decorative, but functional. It puts out heat very well; we don't have the fan turned up all the way and that is fine. It does give off a little hum, but that is to be expected when you have a fan running. Nothing too distracting. My neighbor even came over to install it for me as I have some vision issues that keep me from seeing up close very well. It took him a little longer than his installation as my fireplace wasn't exactly the same as his, but still wasn't too bad.
