Works well and is attractive in the kitchen
I ordered several of these as little extra gifts for my sisters-in-law. Tried my own first, following directions to soak in water before using. I chose to set it on a small piece of plastic wrap rather than just put it in with the brown sugar. Now, several days later, the brown sugar is easy to spoon out. No hard lumps at all. It can also be used for cookies and marshmallows. I will keep ordering these as little gifts. I was not sure I would like it but am very pleased. Such a simple solution for trying to bake with hard brown sugar!

Works Great!
I've been reading brown sugar preserver reviews for a while but didn't want one more thing on the counter (terra cotta pot). I settled on this and it worked great. I followed the instructions (let soak for 15 minutes, blot dry off excess moisture. Dropped in my XOXO container with my light brown sugar. Made cookies last night (about a week after storing) and brown sugar had only a few lumps which were easy to break up. Definitely recommend!

Not happy
I liked the idea because I was using marshmellows before. Well, after a month I opened my brown sugar which was in airtight container and found the sugar was hard as a rock around this disc. Going back to marshmellows.

Brown Sugar Preserver
I brought the brown sugar preserver hoping it would save me from throwing away a almost full 2lb bag of brown sugar. My neighbor has one and assured me it would work to keep it soft, but we wasn't sure it would soften brown sugar that was already rock hard. It was easy to do, just soak it in water for 15 minutes, dry it off and put it in the bag of brown sugar. I did and guess what! I checked my brown sugar about 3 weeks later and it was soft again! I can't say exactually how long it took since I waited so long to check it, but when I did check, the whole bag was soft as it was before I opened it. Amazing.So, if you are thinking about purchasing one, it's okay, it will work. You don't have to throw away your rock hard bags of brown sugar anymore, it will soften it up and keep it soft. Another good thing about it, the directions said you can freshed up the preserver whenever you think it isn't working as well as in the beginning. Soak it in water again for 15 minutes, dry it off and its good as new.

Soft Brown Sugar
This product works as expected. It worked almost immediately after allowing it to seat in a bowl of water for 15 minutes. The brown sugar was soft and crumbly for me to spoon out. Excellent product.

Works flawlessly!
This little piece of terra cotta is one of my most satisfying purchases. I like baking, but don't do it so frequently that I'm always replacing my sugar. As such, quite often I'd open up my brown sugar to find it hard, dry, and difficult to work with. I've never had an issue since starting to use this device and always open it up to find soft, delicious brown sugar.
