Sunday evening, it decides not to drain, not to spin, timer getting stuck on various times of the cycle. By the time I got to look at the machine properly on Monday evening, the wife has already been out round the local electrical retailers seeking out a potential replacement.A quick search on YouTube and within 10 minutes I have the offending article in my hands. I found both pumps had water in places they should not have. Considering the state they were in, I'm surprised the machine did not pack in a lot sooner. Rather than take a chance of ordering two separate pumps and hoping they fitted the original body, I ordered this complete unit.I paid the extra £2.99 for faster delivery and the unit arrived first thing here in NI Wednesday morning. Excellent service. The supplied wiring harness was too short for our machine but easily swapped over for original harness as all wires are exactly same colour and order as original. The original pump body has a little square foot that locates on the plastic bottom of our machine, whereas this one does not. The unit is exactly as pictured. The three holes for mounting the unit to the front base panel are an exact alignment for securing. I am confident enough it will hold fine as it is.So, Wednesday evening, I'm standing proudly over the dying machine I have brought back to life, one full wash nearly done and in full spin mode, expecting my wife to be equally proud of me and happy at my conquest, only to be greeted with a disappointed frown. I have a feeling the LG's successor had already been chosen!So far, the machine has done numerous loads on various washes and appears to be as good (and quiet) as new. From the brief research I did, basically any of the motors from around £5 each upwards probably would have done with a little modification to the wiring at most. Common problem and part with many makes of washing machine and dishwasher. As time was of the essence and it looked like the bank balance was due an imminent hit, I opted for the safe bet with this complete unit.The wife is coming round, slowly!Update 8th July 2015.Machine still running like a dream with this pump. Still mounted as before with no issues. Wife happy. Bought her some treats to compensate.Update 16th February 2017.Still on the same pump without a hint of bother.

The drain pump failed on our LG washing machine, This replacement was easy to fit, with a little re-routing of the wiring as the replacement leads were a bit shorter, and has been working without any trouble for the past month or so (with several washes per week). The mounting for the assembly was also a little different but wasn't a problem.

fits well and works a dream, just you may have to use the cable form the old one as comes up bit short, but beyond that saved me a heap of cost.
