Q: does this have a wide toe box

I think the toe box is fine. I have 2 pairs: an original and a replacement pair ordered a few years after the first. Both are roomy in the toe box for a B-width woman’s foot and true to size.

Q: If I wear a women’s size 8.5 should I get a men’s size 7.5?

I usually wear a size 8 . Ibought a size 8.5. Like the way they fit . As for mens sizes I couldn't tell you.

Q: Is the brindle/Alaskan blue a brown shoe?

I don't know. I always order the charcoal/Sterling blue. They are dark gray. in the photo, the brindle does look brown.
