For Marvel Fans This is THE ONLY Social Deduction/Hidden Traitor Game You'll Ever Need!
If you're a comics (Marvel) fan, Hail Hydra is a blast to play! The game is a social deduction/Traitor along the lines of "Resistance" and "Secret Hitler," but with a Marvel Comics theme! In Hail Hydra, the players plays as superheroes who have united to save New York City from the evil machinations of Hydra! Unfortunately, one (or more) of the players are SECRETLY TRAITORS! The players fight a series of villains from a central deck until the Red Skull himself appears at the end of the game! Each villain has a difficulty number and/or health points that are required to be brought down to zero in order to defeat him!To defeat the villains, players need to play attack cards numbered from -5 to +5. The cards are played FACE DOWN and SECRET! Each player can play from 1-3 cards., again secretly. Once all the players have played their cards, the player deck is shuffled and revealed. If the total of the cards equal or exceeds the current villain attacking NYC, then the players win that round and the agent of Hydra is defeated. However, if the total of the cards is less (or even negative), the villain succeeds in his evil scheme and New York takes so much damage to it's health! If NYC's health ever drops to zero, the players lose and Hydra is victorious! Then, at the end of the round, players must vote on who they think the traitor is! The player receiving the most votes Is excluded from the next mission! Negotiations, threats, lies and deceit are all allowed! The game rinses and repeats until either the players win or lose. Furthermore, each superhero has a special power which allows them a special action and/or a way to 'break' the rules. The traitor(s) can even reveal themselves (and are REQUIRED by the games rules to cry out, "HAIL HYDRA!") as agents of Hydra, which gives them special rules to hinder the players! In short, this game is a blast-with the right crowd! Comic fans and players who like negotiation and light games will have a ton of fun. But, if you're looking for a deep game, this isn't for you!Hail Hydra is very close to replacing Resistance and Resistance Avalon in my collection!

Fun for Groups
I bought this as a gift to my boyfriend for Christmas, and honestly I feel like it was the best gift I got him. The rules are fairly easy to follow: when you play the game for the very first time, there are specific instructions to follow. After the first game play, the rest of the instructions take effect. It was a great way to learn. The artwork was awesome; it's a very aesthetically pleasing game.As for fun, it packs the punch-with the right people. And it is not a quiet game. We first played after people went to bed, and had the hardest time trying to keep our voices low as we argued and accused people of being Hydra. The next time, we were free to yell, and yell we did. The best part is that once you get voted out for a round, you still play and contribute. It has many components, and you can play a simple game or add in all the rules and steps.I would absolutely recommend this for parties of people and Marvel-Lovers.

Great Game especially for the Marvel fans
I think the game is an amazing twist on a solid format offered by deception games like Secret Hitler. I also love that they took the time to create a booklet and a rule set for your first play through to ease you into the game although I do think the game is pretty simple so if you are familiar with this type of game you may be able to just go right in . The only reason it get 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel the card quality could be better they are so thin and flimsy I'm not sure this game will stand the test of time .Over all its a great game and i hope to see expansions sometime soon.

We stayed up for HOURS playing this game!
This game is really fun, we had rented this game from a library and took it on a family vacation, we had so much fun with it, I bought my own game before I even got home! This game is very easy to learn and could be a great Christmas gift for the family that loves games! This game is closely like werewolf or mafia, but with a really cool twist, it’s all marvel villains, and you’re trying to save New York. Our huge family were able to rotate in and out playing the game and we stayed up for hours playing it. You can have up to 8 players but with a minimum of 5, so keep that in mind before buying! Overall, I really like this game, it has been great fun for everyone who plays and we play it all of the time now. Full stars and full recommend! (3 stars on thickness because I have no clue what that could mean? Thickness of the cards? The game itself? Instruction manual? Who knows)

Really nice social decuction game
No complaints on this one!I am fan of social deduction games, with Avalon being my favorite. This game at first seems more complicated, though it's really not that bad. Requires a few playthroughs to get a sense of the powers for each hero and villain, but that's a big part of the fun. There are many permutations so replayability seems great. Best part though is how engaged everyone is, regardless of role. My biggest frustration with other games is that without being a "special" character, players often feel less engaged. That doesn't happen here - with every person having a special power, you can contribute more than just causing chaos by saying random things.Really nice game. It seems balanced towards Hydra, but no game will be perfectly balanced. Five stars for gameplay and artwork.

Amazingly fun
I got this as just something I expected to play a few times but just to have incase I had friends over who were really into Marvel. It is amazingly fun. There are instructional videos that help you play.my siblings and friends sat down to play one round just to see what it was like. We couldn't stop. The more you play the less you trust anyone until you are buzzing with a paranoid distrust of everyone around. All loyalties are dissolved within the first round of cards being dealt. The deck is a fifty fifty chance of having a bad hand no matter if you are hydra or not so you have to put down cards you don't want.Mario cart doesn't destroy friendships.HAIL Hydra
